Default 3M crystaline window tint

Anyone do this on their car? It is a tint that is clear and blocks 99% of UV of the sun.

Was thinking of doing this to the whole car except windshield. Was quoted 450. I want to protect the leather and carbon fiber from the sun. Though now I'm thinking of doing the windshield too since it's clear.

How? It does what normal tint does but is clear. It's for people who want the benefits of tinting without going extra dark.

I found a motortrend review on it even.

I thought the windows in current vehicles already blocks out most of the UV rays, no? Maybe I'm off my rocker here and someone can confirm...

Blocks out about 30%. That's why if you sit in a car with tinted windows it gets less hot as well.

This apparently helps with UV and heat.

Um it mentions it all over the article. Did you actually read it?

From the article:

3M claims that all films in the Crystalline line reject 99.9 percent of UV radiation and 90 to 97 percent of infrared radiation. Because these films significantly reduce exposure to UV rays, they are recommended by the Skin Cancer Foundation as an effective defense against ultra violet radiation — which it identifies as a leading cause of skin cancer.

Um no it does not.

Saying that 3M claims.... is not 3M claiming it, which of course is my only point.

3M's spec sheets show UV block %'s - isn't that the documentation you're looking for?
