Recommended Mods for new to me 997.1 TT?
Hi all,
Well, I took the plunge and am the proud new owner of this pristine 2009 997.1TT:
https://rennlist.com/forums/vehicle-...-for-sale.html
Some of you may recall me asking about moving from my modded Cayman S in another thread. I am interested in minor to moderate modifications that will make this daily driver TT more track capable. The suspension is way too floaty IMO. TPC DSC? I would not mind more power either, along with maybe a flatter power band. I would consider springs and dampers but probably need to do a lot more research to see what the best street/track compromise is. And then there's that exhaust note....
What do you all love of the mods you've done? What are the "hands down must haves"?
I am new here, so if there are other threads on this and I am missing them, please just point me in the right direction?

I've used SharkWerk's guideline as a start.... (Their shop is in my backyard, what a great group of guys!)
http://sharkwerks.com/porsche/porsch...09-2012-a.html
SharkWerks Recommends (for Street Use) ; (Also been using this setup on track days.)
- SharkWerks Bypass Exhaust (skipped... too loud for my little one sitting in the back)
- EVOMSit Software
- TechArt Lowering Springs
- Toe-steer kit & locking plates
- Adjustable rear links
- RSS Sway Bars
You have to get the TPC DSC, day and night even with the above mods!!!

TPC racing makes a Dynamic Stability Control module, plug in that apparently much better controls suspension damping than what stock PASM provides. From what I have seen onthese forums, it is very highly regarded and one of the "must have" mods, even if only for street.

Don't get suspension mods yet! Wait until after december 11th and then make a decision. TPC has something up their sleeve that they hinted at when I was in their shop. The announcement is coming around then.
I agree that the DSC module is great. I trust everything that TPC racing does.
Also recommend europipe 1 or 2. It sounds great and doesn't have an obnoxious drone like some turbo aftermarket exhausts I've heard.
I also like the techart steering wheel I tried on one test drive. Nice and thick. There's another company (DCT?) that does them too that's a little cheaper.

My favorite are my exhaust, tune and tires. I went with KLINE for the exhaust, Cobb Accessport for tune with custom etune from pro tuning freaks and got myself a set of whisper quiet Michelin PSS tires. These have completely transformed the car from stock.

I was wondering about what size and offset wheels to get for the track. Any good sources of info for what's possible and recommended? Seems like there is room for more tire width front and back. Also, not sure what offsets to use. I want to run r compounds, like nitto nt-01's or pilot sport cups, so was thinking 18's?

Research I've done so far leads me to consider 19's for track use, but to increase the fronts to 9" (stock is 8.5) and the rears to 11.5 or 12 (stock is 11). Stock offsets look to be 56 front, 51 rear, but seems like the needed offset is dependent on wheel style and also whether you want to push the wheels out a bit. I've seen a lot of posts where people say what they have on their car, but not sure what they used to decide or what their perceived effect is on handling compared to stock.
