I got one of these and plastidip sprayed it flat black. It came out pretty well.

Fitment was good, too.

The one from ebay fits well. I have one and I am happy. Had it painted at a local body shop which charged me $200. So total $400 for painted factory aero kit style lip instead of $800. Not bad. And yeah, disposable item.

I bought one of the eBay items as well. They do fit well. If they are off a little you just hit them with a heat gun or hair dryer and they straighten right up. I ended up painting mine myself (Basalt Black Metallic), and it came out very good IMO. I posted how I did it and where to get the paint etc on 6Speed...Here is a link:

The one on Ebay has to be painted doesn't it? I heard they have spots from the molding process that look really bad (if not painted.) Is this accurate?

I go through 2 a year.. They are definitely a disposable item.. They should sell them in six packs..

Well...Some may have that, I would say mine looked OK out of the box. Some spray them with Plastidip and they look very similar to the OEM satin black finish...Sets you back about $7-9 for a can. I painted mine to match and cleared it etc....Took me a little longer, but like the way it came out...

i bought this one. will let everyone know how it fits.
Thanks for the recommendation about using the heat gun. The driver side vent was a little warped. 15 min with a heat gun and it was almost perfect. Used a Dremel on the ends to clean it up a little. Fitment is pretty dang good for $190. It feels much more durable than stock. I opted to leave it unpainted since my car is black and I've had horrible luck with painted lips. The hardest part was figuring out how to remove the stock lip. A bunch of the tabs were stuck. I recommend using a 3 inch metal spatula and wedge that in between from the outside. No way would I recommend using a screw driver. That would tear up the bumper. The spatula would cut some of the tabs a bit. Not sure if that effect reinstall of the stock lip. Mine was completely destroyed and no plans of getting it painted.

Thanks - Sid

Hey Phil that isn't the case. The mold is pretty good. Driver side vent needs to be heated and straighten. The mold imperfection is very minor and is so low on the lip it would be hard to see.

I did the Plastidip with glossifier (a bit satiny, not actually glossy) as well. It's cheap and easy to do as well as repair/redo later.
