Why PCCB pads <50% is bad for rotors ?

you want to replace pads at 50% because they become less efficient at dissipating heat (or something like that). i was told this by an engineer that is involved with the #1 cup car race team.
my 997 has 80,000 miles and my rotors are in better condition than cars with 30k miles. i change my pads at 50%, and i drive my car harder than most porsche guys would even dare imagine. late brake everytime, everywhere. including to costco.

^ have you noticed the breaking has become less efficient on your late breaking to Costco when the pads have thinned to 1/2 ?
OP: I would spend the money on a break flush as recomended rather than new pads while you could squeeze more life out of them.

Just had a call from service advisor.
He says no TSB on it, but based on their experience. The pads past 50% heat up the rotor and have rivets in them that can be exposed.
Especially with track use.
He says my rotors are "lifetime" and has never seen a case of rotor had to be replaced.
Except track use.
My PCCBs on the 2008 are by now version 2.0, and I suspect some of this experience was on 1.0, but can't tell.
May be one day there will be a version 3.0 worthy of track use.

I checked mine after track day, they are just before touching the wear sensor and you can see some metal "pins" in them.
