Default Wheel bearing?

Hearing a loud noise coming from what sounds like rear driver side. I assume it is the wheel bearing? Is this common on a car with only 57K km's/35K miles? I have had them go in other cars but can't recall them going this soon.

Next question - for anyone that has had to have the rear wheel bearing replaced, is this a pricey fix?

It is the sounds of an RS5 calling you and not the wheel bearing!

Ok... I have never heard of a wheel bearing go out on these unless you hit the curb or pothole. I have a ton of miles on these. Make sure that it is not something silly such as the flimsy dust shield rubbing on the rotor.

Touch the wheel studs/lugs after a 20-30 minute drive. If they are HOT then I would bet wheel bearing. If they are warm you should be OK. Otherwise you have to jack up the car and check for play.

Not real common but a wheel bearing can fail at any time. Had one go out on my Boxster at around 80K miles. Never had one go out on any car before or since, including the Boxster. The other 3 original bearings have 280K miles on them. The replacement bearing has 200K miles.

Can't help you with the cost for your car other than offer a WAG the ballpark is $600. $100 parts. Rest labor.
