Also, to help with the costs, we also offer the systems without catalytic converters

Any drone?
If I was doing another exhaust, that would be it.
As many of you might recall, I had one on my Cab. It DOES sound amazing. It does drone in a cab, not terrible, but too much for me. I think it would be fine in a coupe.

I absolutely love the looks and craftsmanship but if there is drone it's a no go for me.

Rennlist Members,

Here are a few key points on the subject of "drone".

Drone is very subjective and will vary from person to person.

It is important to understand what drone is and how it occurs. Drone is a sound frequency that occurs at certain RPM and load on an engine. In other words, it is the sound that can be heard in the cabin that an exhaust system makes.

Depending on many variables that includes the engine configuration, turbochargers, location of the turbo, exhaust design, intake design, design of the vehicle's cabin, this can be

Unless it is a silent luxury car like a BMW 7 Series, all high performance have a certain amount of "drone", and even the factory system drones to a certain point. For example, most enthusiasts enjoy the loud exhaust sound of a Ferrari or Lamborghini while it is unacceptable to some.

Drone normally occurs when a vehicle is driven in a high gear at relatively low speed , low engine rpm at partial throttle.

Over the years, we have worked very hard to tune the exhaust systems that we manufacture to produce an pleasant exhaust note and minimze this "drone"

We have also found that one's driving style can easily contribute to "drone". If your car is a manual versus a tiptronic has a lot to do with this as well.

A manual allows you to be able to keep the engine out of the RPM range where the frequency occurs. Over the years we have found that most vehicles with Auto or Tiptronic equipped transmission experience the "drone " more frequently because the vehicle is programmed to upshift into a higher gear to conserve fuel and reduce emissions.

Lastly I wanted to point out that the following over the years Porsche has improved their engine designs and make them comfortable and quiet.

996TT are the models that is the loudest and received a few complaints about "drone".
997.1 Turbo modles are considerably quieter due to the change intake manifold design and the VGT turbos
997.2 Turbo are even quieter to the point where some customers wanted the cars to be louder. As a result, we eliminated the mufflers for some customers who wanted a louder exhaust note.

I had both the older version and now the newer version. I love this exhaust. It does have drone around 72-76mph but it's bearable IMO
