Default Classic/Clean Tires for a 997.1 turbo

Hey guys, New member and new owner of a 2008 997.1 turbo. Recently came from an E92 M3 (amazing car) and have already started modding the turbo. On the M3, the classic go to wheels were BBS LM's. They looked beautiful and I was wondering if there were some set of go to wheels for the 977.1 turbo? Right now the picture in my profile is what my car looks like except the fact that it is a cab. Thanks guys and I hope to learn a lot from the forum!!

GT3RS/GT2 wheels if you wanna go for the clean original equipment look.

BBS are more of a track wheel look on the 997 if you go with the E88. But nice.
BBS also make a monoblock wheel which is nice but pricey.

Would you be using them for road or track?
18" or 19"?

HRE make lightweight strong wheels as well as Finspeed and Forgeline.
Lots of used sets to be had on the GT3/GT2 forum that will fit your car.

Definitely for road. Don't plan to track the car and I was looking into 19's. I'll definitely give the mentioned wheels a look!

BBS LM-R look great on these cars, too.

Congrats on the new Porsche, I also came from an e92m3 but nothing like 997.1TT
Good luck finding the right wheels for her. I am also on that quest but I'm in no rush so I'm slowly looking for the nice set up

Have some coffee and read the article in Excellence this month on aftermarket wheels. The best wheels are the OEM wheels you have on. Article completely changed my mine on wheels. My OEM wheels will stay on my car for as long as I own it. I will re-finish them if they ever need to.

A street version of our F14 or F11 with a brushed finish and a lightly tinted clear would look outstanding on your car.

Track versions of the F14 and F11 and an example of the clear and tintes clear over a brushed finish:

Has anyone been able to fit a set of LM's on the 997.1? I read that the sizes would work but not the offsets is this true?

Yes, I read that too. Clearly oem quality is hard to beat, but the article also spoke highly of high end forged aftermarket wheels when properly sized.

I am with Surgeon on this one...some of the high quality forged aftermarkets are just as good...ie) BBS makes OEM wheels for BMW and Porsche, and there are others...

Remember, the guy quoted throughout, sells reconditioned oem wheels among others. So, I'm sure he tends to prefer oem, which is fine, I actually do as well. My gt2rs wheels were great, but very heavy. I'm also currently on the hunt for wheels, perhaps a silver set of gt2 wheels or a lighter champion wheel.

I have the GT2/GT3RS wheels in black and love the look. Weight is a non issue, they are marginaly heavier than stock. Front 1.1 kg, rear 1.3 kg heavier.
If weight becomes that important PCCB offer more of a weight saving

As if Porsche produces one wheel themselves.
They all are produced in factories that make after market wheels side by side. Founderies who depend on the whims and demands of car manufactures are destined to go under.

If (general) you believe that OEM is the best of the best and you sleep better at night because of it good for you.
