Best part is all your ecu readiness codes, CEL parameters are left in place, which means you will easily pass emissions , as I did last week. I also chose to leave the RL at stock levels.

They will be asking me the same with the Rev range. So leave stock is the proper method?

Just unleashed my beast and did a 10 minute test drive. Made it back without jail time. WOW!

Yep! Been there! This post cracks me up! A friend of mine is a Texas State Trooper and he's asking for a ride. Not sure how to respond. I guess it would have to be while he's off duty.

To answer a few posts above, the MyGenius tool worked flawlessly. If you can read simple directions, anyone could do it. My 8 y/o son (who has trouble concentrating at school but can build a 1,000 piece Lego set perfectly in several hours) could do it. I admit after uploading the modified software this afternoon I had that apprehensive moment when I put the key in and wondered if the car would ever start again, but it fired up and ran like an unleashed beast! The whole process was easy and painless, kudos to FVD. And yes, it is worth it!!! No snake oil here. Sale ends Friday, get with it! (No affiliation!).

For those of you posting 1st impressions...did you have a new set of plugs installed as well? I've read a few places that it's recommended....I think I'm looking at about 3k more miles before it's due for service anyway. Trying to decide whether to pull trigger on service early (ordering FVD today), or let it come on its own.

My plugs were way past due so I had them changed. When was the last time/mileage yours were changed? If they are still OEM and have never been changed then yes, change them and then re-flash.

Your options as I'm sure you know are 1) old-now+re-flash, 2) now existing and re-flash, and 3) wait and re-flash. If my plugs were reasonably fresh and my TT was running good I would choose option #2 to take full advantage of the performance and fun now, not later.

I just checked and plug requirement is 30,000 miles or 4 years. I'm 5 years with 26,000 miles, so technically I'm due. I will have them changed soon, possibly when I'm [dealer] doing a few other things.

Since the car is a couple months new-to-me, and it's due for plugs in a few K miles...the disciplined side of me says wait, then flash.

The key will be which side of me wins. FVD kit arrives Monday.

I say just go for it. I don't notice anything with mine except a bunch of extra HP. Of course, I needed the flash like a hole in the head and most of the time I am driving the car like an old lady, except those occasional times when it's nice to have a rocket ship at your disposal.

And while you all probably do the same, I NEVER push the car unless and until the oil is warmed up to running temp.
