My new to me 2009 997.1TT
After selling my 993TT last year and spending a few months looking for my "next" 911, I settled on a 2009 turbo. This is my 5th p-car and damn is the car impressive. Here's a pic of it coming off the Intercity truck.
It has a couple of mods...the wheels, a fabspeed exhaust, and built in escort 9500. It's has a 6 speed, black interior, heated/ ventilated seats, sport chrono, etc.
One problem, I bought the car from Paul Miller Porsche in NJ without driving it. They assured me it was perfect. When it arrived, the first thing I noticed was the center console finish was peeling away in a small section by the e-brake. The dealer ordered the part for me and is having it sent up to me for my dealer to install. Not a big deal. Then, on my first drive in the car, I brought it up to temp and ran it through the gears. In 5th, the clutch definitely slips, with the rpms jumping up to redline and power not going to the wheels.
I talked to my local dealer about the issue and the car is going in to inspected tomorrow morning. They tell me it's a $4k + job. I'm waiting to hear back from Paul Miller Porsche about it. Really hope they do the right thing and pick up the tab. The car is CPO, but the clutch isn't covered unfortunately. I'm not sure if I have any legal recourse, but I don't want to go there anyway. I love the car and just want it to work as it should and as I was told it did.
I'll post more pics soon.

Nice Turbo!
Sucks about the clutch. Hoping they do the right thing and take care of you - I would be surprised if they didn't. Keep us posted.
Oh, and more pics please :-)

Congrats on the car--I'm sure things will work out. Love those exhaust tips…BTW, what made you sell the 993TT and later go for the 997? Seems many out there would think of the 993TT as the collectible to hang onto.

Thanks for the kind words. Very fired up about the car. I'll get more pics when I bring the car to the dealer tomorrow. Really hope the clutch situation works out. Here's one more of it in my garage. It has a nice tint. Not too dark. I like the look with the flat black wheels.
Docfink, I sold the 993TT with some regret, but I owned it for over 5 years and just needed a change. It went to a great home. I can't justify a collection, rather just one car to have fun with.

I too sold my 993tt and bought with a 997TT cab. Even though the 997tt is better in every ways I still find myself looking to buy a 933TT again. I think it has a lot to do with the price appreciation of that car.

Congratulations on the purchase! It looks very sharp with the Aerokit wing and black wheels.
If the dealer allows it, I would definitely consider a Stage 1 or Stage 2 clutch. You lose virtually nothing in terms of driveability (pedal effort, and smoothness of engagement), but they would hold up much better than a stock clutch down the road with the extra power given by the exhaust, and especially if you add a tune later on.
