Default LED Daytime Running Lights Kits

I am about to purchase a set of Daytime Running Light it for my 997 turbo. I need help deciding which one to get, who makes the best DRL LED KIT. Ebay has several options as far price goes. Which one do you recommend to stay away from.
Thanks for your recommendation

http://www.ebay.com/itm/05-09-Porsch...6c82e9&vxp=mtr I'm going to buy these eventually... These seem to be the same as rotec drls, so you can see some videos on youtube and such. These seem to be as well received as anything else on the forums, fwiw.

As a side note, I changed out my foglights to LED. Wasn't worth the hassle of dealing the too-short cords in a painful angle to install. $50 for those LEDs (the ones that don't trip the warning light), but my time was wasted quite effectively.

I don't think these will work on the 997 turbo.

i spent 1k for the 'top quality ones"... they were total crap..

would never have installed them had i known the quality.. poorly lit LED's, and they even flickered...

stick with oem.. it's not worth it, my dectane tails on the other hand=not one problem.

I am now on my second set of LED DRL's. Both sets are AP from VR. The first filled with condensation in a reasonable rain storm and threw every CEL know to man at me for weeks. I was shipped a replacement set that seem to be a complete page 1 rewrite and they are much better quality. I love the looks of them and would go through the nonsense again.

I have the AP also and agree the condensation etc. is crap. But they look good if you can get them sorted Here are some pictures for reference. Also replaced the end bulb with matching LED and LED fogs and side marker. Nice the way they turn amber when blinker is on...then back to white...

Doh. You are correct. Stupid me, in the description it said it would work for the turbo, I never bothered to think harder. Thanks for pointing this out!

It’s misleading the way it is advertised.

Got them mostly on eBay or other online lighting sources. You want the 5000 - 6000K lights (there is always some slight variance, so some was trial and error)....That temp range matches litronic HL & LED best. Anything over 6000 gets very blue or even purple looking..and needs to be on an Evo or Nissan Closer to 5000 looks white, but starts to look yellow/halogeney(new word).

The LED's for Fog light look good to me, but LED's do not put out much light (I did not really need them for vision...so no problem for me).

When you search I always use the term "Canbus error" in my search string as that will get you the lights that trick the car voltage monitor to NOT throw CEL.

If on eBay....Just use common sense..Get reasonably priced bulbs....if they are 12 cents, they are obviously not that great.

Hope all this helps..Good luck!
