997 6 disc cd changer
Hi Guys,
I can't figure out how to use the 6 disc changer in the trunk of my 997.1 TT.
I've loaded the CD's in and correctly pushed the changer into the unit and can see and hear the motors "whir" away.
Then I start my car and press "CD".
The message "Load CD Changer" appears - or something like that but nothing happens.
Anyone know what I'm doing wrong ? Or is the unit busted?
P.S. I can use the single CD on the NAV without a problem.
Thanks

Make sure the cd's are burned in the correct format if you made them from something like iTunes or an mp3. I had this happen in my MB and was never able to get it working again. I'll be interested to see if somebody else has a fix.

The CD's are originals not copies.
So I'm not sure what's happening.
This is one area where my GTR has the upper hand, slot in the disc and it copies it to the hard drive.

Press CD twice to get to cd changer, cd once to get to single disc in dash.
Or buy a Dension on our site, and use the cdc as a door stop.

I suspect it is the changer unit. I had one go bad on me on my last 997S after 12 months and they changed it out under warranty. The tech said he has seen a few go bad over the years so... I recall mine seemed to be working but nothing came up on the PCM.

You have to push the CD button twice to get to the changer. You might also try flipping over the CDs. Maybe you have them in upside down. Once you put the CD cartridge in the player it should go through a read each disc. So, there will be a delay before you can start using the player. Once it reads all the disc them you can press a number button to select a track or go to the audio menu and select a disc.

And if you can't get it to work you can always use the single CD slot in the player. And yes you are so correct. Porsche made and amazing car but failed miserably with PCM and audio components.

Thanks guys for all your input.
The CD's in the right side up.
I pressed the "CD" button and the display reads "Load CD Changer", but then nothing happens after that and the NAV just keep playing the CD in the single slot.
