Thanks to everyone for the feedback...good points. I ended up negotiating to a final price of $76k. The car has new tires and a recent plug change. Figured that's worth $1500+.
The car is cobalt blue which I really like. After looking into it, I found out this color was quite rare and a $2500+ option. I know there are cars out there for $65-$70k but they always seem to have stories. Lots of owners, lease cars, multiple auctions, hail damage etc.
This car is owned by an active PCA member and Rennsport Kansas City knows the car and seller. Picking up in K City in about a week after PPI and driving to Austin. Will post pics soon!
A Cobalt blue one ? Wow, that is really a very good deal. That color alone is worth a premium. And new tires and plugs are a very nice bonus.
A big congrats !
I pity your 993
Awesome! Good job on the negotiation! And the cobalt blue is indeed rare! That is a good and proper price! You are going to love it! And milk that CPO! Pictures soon we hope!
I agree on price but want to discuss mileage. 22k on a 6-7 year old car is roughly 3400 mi/yr. Are you suggesting this is high? On a Ferrari, I would agree but Porsche is known as the "everyday super car" and I believe it's true. Mine has 32k over four years and there are many here on RL with much higher mileage that are still going strong.
22K miles on a 6 to 7 year old car is not high miles. By Porsche's reckoning based I guess on data it has collected over the years 6K to 9K miles per year is about I guess average so roughly 3500 miles/year is low miles, way below even the lowest average of 6K miles per year.
But it is not uncommon to find a car with less than 6K miles per year. My 03 Turbo which I bought used in 2009 had just 10K miles on it which works out to less than 1700 miles per year. That's hardly moving at all.
