Tire Pressure Monitor...
Just experiencing a false warning ( -4 ) off my right rear TPM. Most likely needs to be replaced, Suncoast for $128.00.
What's involved in changing these out? Does it have to be done at the dealer or can any good tire store do it?
My tire pressures are ok, can I just ignore it until I need to get new tires?

To piggy back on this, how long do the batteries last in these things? When my car sits for anything more than 30 minutes, I have to drive it around before the sensors start reading on the display... I just get dashes for 1 or more wheels until I've driven a mile or two.
Not always, but frequently... Now, I'm ASSUMING it's a weak signal due to battery life, but....

I just had all 4 of my sensors replaced and still get 4 dashes for a few miles or several miles. It is very random on my car. Then once every few months I get the yellow ! saying TPMS inactive. I have been to the dealer several times(at least 5) will no luck getting it fixed. I guess I will look at replacing the control module myself one day. Has anyone done that? Is it a plug and play item or will I have to go to the dealer for programming?
I have also been told once the batteries get down to ~29 months they can start to fail.

i've had 7 year old tpms on 40k mile car and still worked fine.
change your pressures around to wake em up and make em start noticing whats what.
it's just a sensor.. u can pop the tire bead and pull and replace the sensor without even removing the tire from the rim, takes 10 minutes... a nut holds em on the wheel... or.. remove nut and they come out...
sensors are $125 at dealer
100$ at tirerack
or aftermarket sensors are $50 and work just as well but a slower "refresh" rate.
if you replace one, do a full reset of the system in the dash, "reset" "learning"... then drive 10 miles.. either they pop up or the next time you turn on car they will.

I have a 2007 that I bough CPO in 2007. My warranty ended July 1 2013. In June i got the tire pressure error. I took it into the dealer in June and they replaced one and sent me on my way. Two weeks later, after the CPO warranty was over, I saw the same error and took the car into the dealer. After a fight, they covered the repair but they did tell me it was almost $1100 to replace all four sensors. WTF?

^Is this the same dealer that gave you a hard time on the front diff leak? Or am I confused here....terrible dealer!
Morrison...which dealer do you deal with Boulder, or Ft.C or Denver? If you want an honest, really good, indy, go to Poudre Sports Car in Ft.C. I have known them for 25 years, and Steve (owner) has been working on Porsches for 40 years. They don't have the Cappuccino machines and the Corinthian leather couches like the pcar dealers but they are real technicians. You should give them a try... PM me if you have any Q's.
