Okay, I've got to admit that I'm that guy talking the ear off every 911 owner I meet. Before I started reading this forum, it was the best way to get an honest opinion/answer about the cars. Especially the "do you winter drive?" (I'm in Ottawa, Canada) or "where do you get it serviced?" questions. I promise to be brief next time!

Interesting post but it is the single biggest reason I got rid of my Ferrari Spyder and now am driving a Gt500. My son actually did not want me picking him up at school

Once in a while, but around here (Bergen County NJ), Porsches are everywhere.

This is interesting.. I love the attention.. On the other hand the owner of my company that has amazing cars. hates it.. He says it makes him feel uncomfortable. LIke he's showing off. He feels that unless he invites a person to converse they should mind their business..

There are kids that come by the shop and I think I'm going to have to sedate them they get so excited around the exotic cars.. Thats the way I still am!

But like the others said.. I'm in LA... I think my wifes Mocha Fiat 500 gets more attention than I do in the TT!!

I appreciate the fact that these cars do not scream out for attention. Somehow they blend in much more than other exotic sports cars.
Some of my friends with Italians are hesitant to drive them often just because of the attention. 911's seem to only get special attention from those who understand them. Although sometimes I notice pedestrians doing a 180 after driving past them.

something else that bugs me is other drivers trying to speed up whenever I even get near them.....
I'm riding in CRUSIE CONTROL on the highway coming up on someone, (I'm in the fast lane, they are not)
then the car starts speeding up.......then I pass.....then they slow down again.......

SO ANNOYING!!!!!!!!!

It's been my experience that the mid-Atlantic states don't have a lot of "exotics" like FL, CA and etc. We do have a lot of SUV's, minivans, pick-ups, Fords, Chevys and the less expensive imports. So, a P-TT will draw attention because it does stand out from the crowd. I know whenever I see a Viper, GTR, Ferrari (rare), or even (G-forbid) a Corvette I always look. So, be proud and thankful that 1) you can afford a TT, 2) it's not a common sight, 3) people enjoy looking at your car, and 4) you just brought a little happiness (and yes envy too) into their life. JMHO.

Around here Porsches are a dime a dozen, so no one pays attention. I like that!

Now, when I had my R8 it was a totally different story - way too much attention. I really did not enjoy that at all.

Of course, I'm also guilty myself - stopped to gawk at a Lexus LFA a couple days ago.

these are high class problems

all joking aside, take it in stride and give them some acknowledgment with a head nod or thumbs up. consider it a complement

okay now you all can flame me for this kind of complaint...

but it bugs me to no end
Relocate to Newport Beach, CA. No one there will even give you a look in a old 997 Turbo. Go there and check on the ongoing parade of car ****. I saw several brand new McLarens rolling around a week ago. This brand new $300K McLaren Cab. was parked on some side street as if it was nothing.

Default gawkers

I agree with some in that I almost never get attention. I used to own a '10 zo6 black with the 427 hood decal. That car had many lookers but of all the cars I have owned nobody gets the looks like my Wife's '05XKR. Last night she told me about her latest admirer a woman driving a Jeep and a conversation ensued about the classic looks of the XKR...strange...rrm
