Just trying to figure out if these beasts are available with a manual 6 speed.
Any input appreciated. Thanks!

The Turbo S is PDK only. There are non S 2011 Turbos with manuals. The only thing the S has that you couldnt get as an option on a non-S is the ECU boost of 30-ish HP, so you could theoretically find a manual turbo thats just about the same as the S.

Thanks guys.
Here's my predicament......
I need another NASTY Porsche. I would prefer another CGT, but I have some business expenses that will preclude me from dropping $325K on a toy as soon as I would like.
I love the sheer power of the Turbo S, but would really prefer a manual tranny. So I am also thinking 2008 GT2, which would get me the manual tranny.
The GT2 never gets cited as being as quick as the Turbo S, but I assume that is simply because it is traction limited. Given that it weighs roughly 300 lb less, I would assume that from 30-40 mph on up, that it would pull just as strong.
Dark horse contestant is a 2010 GT3RS, but I had two Gen I GT3RS's and thought they were underpowered. I realize that the 3.8L RS has another 35 hp, but I am still worried it might not be enough. Remember guys, I like wretched excess!!!
Any comments from owners here????
Thanks to all!!!

Great idea!!! But for GT2RS money, I'd go ahead and spend a little more and get another CGT.
I love the GT2RS at about $175K. History has not been kind to uber-pricy, production Turbos. I had a highly optioned 996GT2 that stickered for $197K and a buddy of mine now owns it. He can't find a buyer in the low $60's believe it or not!!!
However, if I buy an 2008 GT2 in today's market, someone else will have taken the first depreciation hit for me.
Thanks for the input. Keep the ideas coming guys!!!

I just traded in my 2011 gt3rs for a 2013 turbo s. The gt3 is still very quick, but cant compare to the awd and turbo power from the start. The launch control feels like ur on a runway taking off in a jet.
Once ur above 60 they feel about the same.
The turbo S is way more comfortable but for raw excitement you cant beat the gen2 rs.
If its strictly for weekend blasts then the gt3 hands down, but if you take trips with it then the Turbo S.

The launch control on the turbo s is ridiculous. If you drive a turbo s you will probably buy it. The used coupes are the way to go. Should be able to pickup a fairly low mileage 11 for 130-135k.

GT2 has launch control. Also has separate SC and TC- mode buttons allow you to either turn off SC or SC+TC.
GT2 has a real dry sump.
Turbo S is a 3.8l, more displacement, better mid range grunt. AWD really gives you a margin of safety on the streets.
GT2 is RWD. In stock form it's quite benign, if it's modified it can be a handful.
Where you live and how you use it, along with whether or not you want to "buy smart" or not, may determine your choice. You are right, '08 and '09 GT2 is on the back end of the depreciation curve, whereas the Turbo S is not.
Hope that helps.
