What to do?
Almost a year ago I sold my 1989 930, 1997 993TT and 1988 944T. The sight of them sitting there unused for so many years finally got to me and I decided it was time for someone else to enjoy them. They were all sold within two weeks and I bought a CPO 2011TTS. Now the same thing has happened, I haven't driven the car. It's moved less than 2,000 miles. Total mileage is now about 9,500. I'm kicking around the idea of selling it and moving back to an air cooled car or two. Thoughts? Any one interested in the car? I guess this is a feeler type thread, but not really...

TTsurgeon had a similar experience with his TTS Jason, he said he got bored of his and got a six speed TT. Maybe you miss the six speed? All the other cars you had were six speed. I don't miss my RSAmerica at all! I love my 07 TT.

why are you not using the car? maybe you have to figure that out first (and if you really want to use the sportscar more often) so next time you get the right car for you.
if you want a modern day collectible porsche, i think it would be worth ponying up for the RS 4.0. i don't think you will lose money on that car and is for sure a very enjoyable car to drive.
if you want to go aircooled, maybe a 965 3.6 turbo -that's like the middle ground between the raw 930 and refined 993 which you both had in the past. and it's becoming quite a collectible too.

3.6 964 turbos are at a premium right now. I'd find a nice 930 to compliment the tts.
Yes, the tts is fast, but like riding in the Concorde, while the aircooled turbos are like a Messerschmidt.

Like you I had a small collection of beautiful - like new - collector Porsche's.
Had a few 964's , a 993S and the 996 GT3 RS. On top of that I had a 997 turbo as a semi daily. I too got tired of all these cars just sitting around and gradually felt I would be better of just selling them all but one. So I did and kept my favorite' the 993S. After a short time I really started to miss the 997 turbo and felt that I kept the wrong car. Not long after I started looking for an other 997 turbo and sold the 993S. Today I am completely happy with my 997 turbo and I feel no need for any other 911.
You need to find the car that makes you happy looking at it, driving it and enjoy talking about. That should be the car for you. If this TTS isn't it than move on.
Do not let mileage be a determining factor as I am pretty sure whatever you'll end up will sit more than be driven. That should not be a bad thing.
Hopefully you'll find 'your car'.

Unfortunately, I think the same thing will happen with whatever I have. On another note, I leased a 2013 740i in September and it hasn't left the garage, I think it has 600 miles on it. I keep driving the Fiat. What does this all mean? Not really sure... any psychiatrists around...

It's basically the mileage syndrome condition. Most patients suffer from this curable disease and usually recover after a few thousand miles of use. Afraid to take the vehicle out for a spin, worried about puddles leaving marks underneath and on sides of car. These are some of the symptoms. Another is leaving small grass clippings on the drivers floor mat. Most of these symptoms go away after a small dent or scratch. Usually results in realization that its not new anymore

It means you feel guilty driving a nice car and prefer to stay under the radar. Why waste your money on expensive cars, go buy a new Fiat 500 or Dodge Dart

Now you are bemoaning the fact it doesn't get used and thinking of selling it to buy another car? Which probably -- given your previous behavior -- will not get used either?
Get rid of the 997 Turbo S if you want. But may I suggest for your next vehicle you snag a shopping cart from the local supermarket? If you're not going to use what's on your driveway or in your garage what difference does it make what is on your driveway or in your garage?
I can't make it to where you are right now so do me a favor and smack yourself up side your head and then turn off the PC and go out and drive your car. Don't come back until your credit card is max'd out and the tires are down to the wear bars.

Let me get this straight: You sold a 930, a 993 Turbo, and a 944 Turbo because you were bothered by them not getting used? Then you bought a '11 Turbo S?
