That's too bad they closed it.. That could have been a 100 pager at least! It's amazing how crazy people get about a topic like that.. I'm afraid that the young gen will never know a six speed manual. And they will have no idea what the big deal was about..
As early as 2014 Porsche may not even offer a manual car. Ferrrai doesn't'. Grab the 997 TT 's and GT3's while you can. I l love my 6 speed.. and the 7 speed in the 99! is a sweet box as well..

I recall when quartz movements were introduced, everyone called for the end of the classic manual wind and mechanical watches. Truth be told mechanical movements in high end watches are bigger than ever because the "pureness" of the design, appreciation for the heritage and the personal engagement with the watch offers a deeper and richer experience vs the sterile and somewhat clinical experience with the automatic quartz movement. I believe this applies to high end super cars as well.
Do any of the purists here truly care about 3.4 seconds vs 2.8 seconds to 60 vs the joy of rev matching a downshift or hitting the perfect 2nd to 3rd up shift on the on ramp?
Btw my comments are not meant to disrespect folks who appreciate their automanuals, just my personal musings

Nice car.....but I just don't get it, and I don't think I'll ever get it.
Why would anyone in their right mind spend over $123,000 on a car and drive it an average of 500 miles per year?????
Don't these people realize that cars are a highly depreciating asset?
Besides gambling, buying an expensive car and keeping it as a garage queen is one of the silliest things anyone can possibly do, IMHO.
I'm in the market for a Turbo which I plan on driving, is there much difference in performance between the 2007 version with 480hp and the 2010 version with 500hp, other than the latter having the PDK option?
Do any of the 2007+ turbos have any engine issues, like the RMS problem?

So far so good. The tooki is a much better BT , but this comes built in w the iPod dennison unit.
I've yet to try it w an iPod, only my iPhone it BT streams nicely.
Yes, mav1, this thing had a 144k sticker. Drove 50 miles a month, tires were original and dry rotted.

No rms issues w the turbo.
The 2011/12 pdk turbo is the less desirable 9a1 based wet sump engine, great car but apples and oranges. It's like comparing a 993tt vs a 996tt.
