"I'm buying 6 packs of spoiler lips". Hilarious! just start buying full kegs

No doubt lowering the car looks great, and I think the perfect drop for looks and street drivability is probably around 10mm (roughly 1/2 inch). But only way to get a 10mm drop is with coilovers and not sure I want to spend that much money on wheels, coilovers and the labor costs for 1/2 inch drop. The labor cost for installation of lowering springs alone in the bay area is $1000-$1300 bucks (ridiculous).

I'm pretty handy and would consider a DIY but would need detailed step by step instructions with proper photos to consider it. Plus I actually like working on my car but have never done springs

Now Denis' photos look great so not convinced aftermarket wheels and stock ride height won't look good.
Anyway all this might be moot, Jerry Brown just took an unexpected chunk out of my wallet for this year with the retroactive tax increase for 2012 with the passage of Prop 30. My accountant just told me I'll owe the state of california an additional $10k+ in retroactive taxes for this year! Who knew the government could actually institute a tax in November and make it retroactive to January 1st, scary. anyway talk about killing my mod budget

(shhhhhhh I shouldn't complain, if Jerry Brown knows I have or had a mod budget he may want $20K)

I believe the Eibach spring will give you the 10mm you are looking for..Contact them for conformation.. Yeah the labor is brutal for the spring install... But $1000 to $1300 is absurd.

My tech did mine for $750 with an alignment. If you decide to do this I would make them an offer and see if they take it.. I can't believe the indies are so busy in your area they will turn down work. Heck I bet you could even get a dealer to do it for $1300!

Yeah I'm feeling your pain with prop 30.. I don't know how that passed. Everytime I start to complain about taxes I think about our friends here in Greece and Austrailia.. Then I stop whining...

If you don't want to lower the car spacers (14mm to 16mm rears and 7mm fronts) will help the look of your new wheels. Good luck with whatever you decide..

I think Denis photos look great too! I love those wheels! Those are a great price too and same weight as OEM.

For me I was just not happy with the car at stock height. And sometimes aftermarket wheels exeggerate the space in the wheel wells..

You guys should become members, there is a sub forum for politics and you could vent at your heart's desire. You are for sure not alone feeling the way you do. FYI, 85% or more voted for Romney in the Rennlist poll and disappointment is big.

Yes I bought it new and ordered it from Porsche. Car now has 25,000 miles and is six years old. Here's the main spec's..

Artic Silver Metallic
Cocoa Special Leather
Carbon Fiber Package
Fabspeed stainless steel headers, mufflers
200 Cell Cat converters
Carbon Fiber heat shield
Air intake with cone filters
ECU upgrade
Parrott Bluetooth
Satellite Radio
Painted "color to match" lower ground effect panels
Clear Bra
Stuffed animal

I plan on holding on to this one...but can't wait to see the 991 Turbo coming next summer.

I'll try to send more photos.

Aah! That's fantastic, I owned an Arctic/Cocoa 07 turbo and loved the color combo. It truly oozes class and sophistication. I suspect it is as rare in the US as it is here in Europe ?
Looking forward to some more pictures. Glad it's a keeper, the 997 turbo will be a collector sooner than later, I am sure.

If I'm not mistaken, you can use a combination of lowering springs--say 20mm--and spring spacers--say 10mm--to achieve your desired ride height. Put the spacer on top of the spring.

I talked with GMG about this very thing not long ago.

nice wheels, great car and nice mods
I look at these 20" wheels with the deep dish rears and stock ride height (it has't been lowered right?) and it looks good to me.
