Personally, all black wheels dont appeal to me. They need to have some accent otherwise they blend in and it looks boring. A 3 piece wheel with only black centers looks good, but all black 1 piece wheels are bland.

I dissagree, but then I am partial as I painted mine black...
Here are a few shots of black on black. I would do satin finish if you dont want matte which may be aggressive but definitely not shiny black.

Not stock but gives the idea

I wouldn't call it "lame" at all. It's personal taste. I'm not big on black wheels (I have a Basalt TT too). If you do go black, you might consider a polished lip.

If you like the look, go for it, but ensure you take it to a place that knows what they are doing and are very experienced with powder coating the type of wheel you have (e.g., OZ, HRE, etc.).

For the powder coat to cure, they have to heat it and you want to make sure that they don't exceed certain parameters for your wheel alloy so as not to destroy the alloy (e.g., make it brittle, or soft, etc.).

Hope this helps.

Cheers.

As Jim said, it's personal taste. For me, these are the only black wheels I would consider for my 911.
