I BOUGHT IT !!!
After being away from the marque for 25 years (having owned 3 prior P-cars), I am finally back in the family - but this time I bought the car of my dreams: a Porsche Turbo !!
Picked up a beautiful, CPO 2007 997TT in Meteor Gray Metallic with Natural Brown Leather interior, one owner, 19,418 miles at Porsche of the Main Line in Philly (specs & photos below), and drove it down to Miami two weeks ago. What a blast !!
A few hours after leaving Philadelphia, stopped to put some gas and a kid working at the gas station pulls out his cell phone and starts taking pictures of the car. Tells me, "It's my dream car !" I say, "Mine too !!"
Stop at Annapolis, looking for a place to eat some good seafood, and I ask this guy driving a Corvette who recommends a place called Carol's Creek, right on the water. But the best part is that I got an outdoor table on the wooden deck, with the water view to my left, and the parked Porsche Turbo view to my right. Wonderful !! The food was great, too.
Back on the road early next morning, and I start to let the car flex its muscles down I-95...... Wow ! Just like I remember: a Porsche is a car that allows one to actually do on the road whatever your imagination conjures.
Second stop was in Savannah, GA. Stayed in the historic old part of town, and dinner at the "Olde Pink House". This is a large, old, huge house turned into a restaurant, with a bunch of different rooms (eating areas). But if you ever visit, make sure you have them sit you in "the tavern" - this is the old wine cellar in the basement, with a beautiful, long, wooden bar, a few barrel-type tables, and a very talented guy at the piano playing great live music. Had a fantastic time. Good people, great food.
Took off the next morning, and was in Miami by 3pm.
I really want to thank the Rennlist website and its members, as I have been reading and catching up on everything Porsche for the past weeks. A special thanks to Denis in Belgium (993S) who convinced me to go with the natural brown interior - I initially thought it might be a little too dark but, boy, was I wrong - it is a beautiful combination with the meteor gray.
Thanks to all,

What a great write up. Nice to see those who love the 911 Turbo. That kid at the gas station was me when I was a teenager growing up in South Jersey. I can remember driving to the Porsche dealer in Cherry Hill. The dealer there knowing that I was never going to buy a car would still let me sit in the new Porsches and dream. I'm telling you I could have made a commercial back then with the expression on my face as I closed my eyes wishing someday if the ultimate could come true. Well like you, it did. Thanks for bringing those memories back. One last note since you mentioned a friend in Belgium, do yourself a favor and contact Europipe which is located in Belgium and consider upgrading the exhaust. Again thanks for the story and good luck.
