Hi great thread (glad I used the search first)
Im in the market 4 myself and the my budget directs me to a 50k + miles
...so any other recent RL members with issues, thread seems to have died a little

50K+ is nothing for these cars. Don't worry, enjoy the search and post pictures when you get it.
Btw, why don't you use your old account? You can have a mod ask to change your username if you like but at least people would see you have been a member since 2006. Not that it matters much but just thought I'd mention it.

maybe 50k is nothing for these cars, but these cars are still mechanisms and mechanisms tend to break. Breaks on a Turbo can easily run into thousands. Therefore - get an insurance. I'd suggest to pay special attention to the clutch (if the car has manual gearbox) as this is expendable part, which in my case is not covered by insurance (that also includes accumulator and clutch cylinder).

I might ask the moderator but i do like the 997TTheaven better,
I'm just looking for items like the clicking doors on the 993 and such for the Twin Turbo, I have trolled the 997 normally aspirated side.

thank you I have contacted Annapolis Porsche and gotten a quote for a new clutch so I am projecting that expense, who knows on a pre owned car how long the clutch will last as far as maintenance insurance goes, I have a few leads , that said I am open for insurance suggestions or comments, I realize I wont be able to get it CPO with high miles
Have you heard or experienced any odd or peculiar items break or act up on TT? Example my Volvo has 90k and the driver window is acting up - according to my indie that is very normal.... stuff like that for the TT is what I'm looking for...
I'm Not looking for an RMS / IMS or pms (lol) discussion.... just basic issues...

Well, the radiator openings are so big and unprotected lots of stuff ends up in the back of the radiator housing making them rot. So you need to keep those areas clean.
Water runs under the door sills and in the long run it may start rust.

2007 car but only 13000 miles. Tyres , battery and two weeping coolant hoses in the front wheel well's, on either side.
Mate had a GT3, battered it to death for four years - 38,000 miles replaced clutch only.

Since I have owned a 993 for 6 years I know what you mean.
Well, the radiator openings are so big and unprotected lots of stuff ends up in the back of the radiator housing making them rot. So you need to keep those areas clean.

Bought slightly less than a year ago with ~53k miles. I now have ~73k miles on it due to daily driving it 70 miles round trip commute and tracking the car.
Mandatory fixes:
front right "Y-pipe" coolant fitting failure
Clutch replacement
I've done some enhancements but the above were the only must fix items. I have changed the plugs, oil tranny/diff fluid etc just because that is good to do with the miles, DD the car plus the track time.

So, with all of this considered, where do you guy's see the 'bottom' of the price curve mileage wise? On well maintained and documented 993 Turbo's which are 15 years old now, it seems to be at +/- $50K for cars with 75K - 90K miles. I'm seeing a few 997.1 Turbo's at 50K miles in my searches for $60-65 and I'm assuming that as soon as the 991 Turbo is available, there will be more 997 TT's on the market as people move up which might push re-sale prices down a bit .. maybe 10% ... or do you think strong demand will keep prices stable?

It's really hard to say... It's a terrible time to be selling a car and a great time to be buying.. I think your 10% prediction is reasonable. Who really knows what the floor will be when the 991 comes out.. One thing is certain.. The 991 will be very expensive.. This could actually help the prices of the 997's.. If you find a great car at a good price you will a happy man no matter what happens...Good luck in your search..!!!
