Anyone know this 997TT Champion?
996 gone...what to do? This midnight/cocoa is sweet. I love the combo but the carpet color reminds me of a college apartment.

Yea its a nice car love the cocoa; however, the problem I have with the Cocoa is that its one of those colors that when it gets old and a little worn out, its going to look horrible. The carpet isnt very nice either, it kind of reminds me of the carpet in the terra cotta interior cars, the leather looks beautiful but the carpet looks like its old and faded.

Wow! I learn something new from RL almost everyday. I consider myself fairly knowledgeable re: the 997 TT. However, I have never seen a cover for that little cubby on the passenger side door sill. Does anyone here have one? I think I want one but need more info. such as fit, stability, latch mechanism. TIA

One other thing unnoticed, the turbo sills are not lit! That's a 1k repair job! They are supposed to be lit for about 10 minutes, then they shut off. Since the door safety lights are on, this proves they are bad. Usually they go bad after a few years. The voltage inverter dies due to the electroluminescent "Turbo" display oing out. It opens and presents an infinitive load to the inverter. Bad bad so the inverter fries. Porsche does not sell just the inverter. I have fixed several of them for friends. About 600.00 for both and about 400 for labor at Porsche.

Takes me about 1.5 hours to do. $150.00. I even save your door module settings since once the module detects an open load it will report to PIWIS and Durametric a comfort code. So if you are going to buy that car take that into account. Hope it helps

Nice color combo but I think you can find a lot of lower mileage examples

Do all 997-1 Turbos have illumunated door sills? I have had my car for a year and a half and they have never been illuminated.. Any info on this would be greatly appreciated.

Look at your option sheet. If you do, what happens is the electroluminescent backing on the sill gets damaged. Which when it does, it opens( infinite resistance) and burns out the voltage inverter. Porsche does not sell the inverter or the sill plate separately. Dealer my friend or my home but you are far away.
