Isn't buying 2007 997TT a bit scary?

It was sold to me by San Francisco Sports Cars. Apparantly, somebody had a deposit on it and then they just vanished. SFSC held it for him for 3 weeks and then gave up on him and re-listed it. I saw it the first day it was re-listed for sale and called immediately. I researched the dealership and found nothing but glowing remarks about them. He showed me the PPI, service records and about 70 pictures of the car. We agreed upon a price and I sent him the money two days later. Car scheduled to be delivered to my house Thursday morning. Can't wait!!!

I figured i would chime in. I purchased my first Porsche few months ago having no idea what i was getting myself into. It was at auction and dealer sold it for 65k with 50k miles to me. Black with terracotta/black interior, 6 speed, sport chrono, pccbs with a few aftermarket part; springs, clutch, exhaust, sway bars. I took the car to my local Porsche dealership quickly after purchase and they gave me two thumbs up. I have since then went ahead and replaced spark plugs, and a couple oil changes also adding some aftermarket parts of my own; APR, Fabspeed, IPD and soon to come OEM GT3rs orange wheels. All maintenance and parts install done by Porsche of Annapolis (expensive but if you want it done right..). Ill get to the point, it's very scary now that i have read so much on these forums of the possibilities of anything being wrong or happening and now knowing the costs of things. So far i feel very lucky and the car is amazing in every way.

No fear here. I bought mine from a Ferrari dealership with no warrenty. Would I do that with a C2S or C4S? No way. But the reputation of the TT's are so strong and with it's history of a local low km car and a wholesale price I ponied up. I never fear abut anything going wrong on this car. I'll just deal with it if and when something comes up. I can see keeping this one for some time, regardless of the depreciation etc...

Just had mine for one week, so I'm probably not a great candidate for a reply. All I know is that I was looking for a C4S for about a month and then got offered an '08TT for the same money as an '08 C4S. Car has 41,000 miles on it, but feels as tight as a new car. Plus it has a lot of upgrades which were basically valued at no cost to me and the look of the car made me fall for it. Of course after the PPI. I hope to keep it for a long time since it is going to be in storage for the winter months.
