Default Buying Turbo - PCCB?

Looking at some 07-09 turbos. For a street car, should I care if it has PCCB? Worth extra?

Nice to have, but not something that would be a deal breaker in my opinion.

Common thinking is steelies are some of the best brakes around. PCCB on the street is good, produces less dust, but when considering a turbo purchase like this, that would be the last thing most people care about. Get the right car, right mileage, right options for you, then see where you are.

Good luck!

I got them. They are great! But should not be a deal breaker if a car does not have them.

PCCB's are great. I wouldn't order new but would buy used if part of the package. $8K+ is a lot for an option and keep in mind the high replacement/repair exposure later on.

Worth it and a must have on a street car IMO.....not just for performance, but it you are a P..nut like most here, and do wipe the break dust off the wheels everytime you look at them, then get the worry free PCCB.

57K street only miles on original rotors and pads, but some occasional aggressive mountain twisties.

Ordered them new, pleased I did, would order new again, but not a deal breaker in a used car.

For me, the dust free is more than a nice to have.

Default pccb

I also have the pccb that came on the used '07 I pursched. At first the brakes squeeked almost every time I hit them...hard, soft, hot or cold. I took it back to the dealer where I had pursched, Roger Beasley in Austin (a great dealer by the way) and they fixed the squeek with some sort of sound supressent and not a squeek sense. Great brake's but I, like most others would not let the lack on your car negate a buy...rrm

Are PCCBs worth the extra $? Yes, and the yellow calipers look better, too.

But they don't look good with pink rotors.

I want a set of pink rotors for my car. Where did you get them. I would rather have steel brakes. They are potentially high maintianance cost if they get chipped. The steel brakes work great. I think only about 10 percent of turbos came with them anyway.

Besides the performance factor, there isn't any brake dust. But again shouldn't be a deal breaker.

I am having the same exact problem with my GT2 PCCB's squeaking like crazy. I was hoping RB Porsche in Austin can help me as well. I sent you a PM...left my cell#.

It wasn't a must at the time I was shopping for my turbo, still isn't.
