Default Picking the Right 997.1 Turbo

Hi All..this my virgin post and I'm about to soon be a proud owner of a Tiptro 997.1 Turbo. I was hoping you'd be able to help in my decision making...I'll be a daily driver, not much track use, mostly street driving.

I have two options in the Miami area to choose from unfortunately both cars originate from the North East where cold weather and poor roads prevail.

Option 1:

Atlas Gray -2008- 15,000 miles - 1 Owner (All Service History) - Nat Tan Interior - Makkasar Wood Trim, Mulifunction Steering Wheel, Steel Brakes, Regular Power Seats, Heated Seats, Rear Park Assist

Option 2:

Slate Gray -2007- 16,000 miles - 3 Owners (No Service History) - Nat Tan Interior - Multifuntion Steering Wheel, PCCB, Adaptive Sport Seats, Heated Seats, Rear Park Assist

I will be performing a PPI on both cars but assuming they both check out clean, which would you recommend I go for? Option 1 is approximately $8k more expensive...is the peace of mind from 1 owner and full service history worth that much or will a PPI negate that? I've heard these cars are great in terms of reliability and thats why I ask....

Option 2 has the higher cost options so I wonder why it's priced lower than Option 1. If you decide you like Option 1 better use the pricing of Option 2 to negotiate.

Thanks for your replies guys. I forgot to mention Option 1 is a 2008 and Option 2 is a 2007 model.

The 08' has a sticker in the mid-nineties and the 07' in the high 80's.

I would not get a car with no service history. List the options you want and find the car. Can take some time...

I've been in the market for 6 months and I recall a car w/ 20k miles and similar options to the one I've mentioned but it was for 89k..

Remember I'm looking for a low mileage (under 20k mileage) Tiptro w/ Multifunction steering and a nat tan interior... those usually are priced significantly higher than the normal Turbo's especially if they're not in Arctic Silver (a color which seems to be the home of many reasonably priced turbos)

I'm done waiting...I need to get something soon and I'd appreciate your opinions.

There is no such thing as no service history these days. Everything should be logged at some dealer. Look at the book, see who stamped it, call them up and request a history. 07 vs 08 is little difference if any, just negotiate on the 2nd option harder.

I would opt for the second car, the wood is a no no and the adaptive seats are better. PCCB for little track or no track is also preferable.

Nat tan interior is gorgeous. Bit biased as I have the same... :-) Good luck.

If you like to shift a Tip in manual mode, there is too much going on there to have multifunction.

I considered it carefully before declining on multifunction when I ordered mine. The radio controls are within easy reach.

Thats what surprises me, I keep asking the 07 dealer to look for some service history but he keeps saying he can't find any. Number of owners isn't a concern at all?

Instinctively, I always use my steering wheel to control the stereo system. I've driven two turbo's so far with the multifunction steering wheel and haven't had a concern. I guess it depends how accurate you are, I'm a guitarist so accuracy w/ small objects is non-issue for me. I have an uncoordinated friend and he hasn't had many complaints either.

Here is a nice option at Brumos in Jax. ASM/Cocoa interior which is beautiful and Tip as well.

http://brumosporsche.com/preowned/in...D29917S784323/

It is also CPO so you can't beat that!

Thanks for keeping an eye out for me! I'm shipping the car overseas and a CPO won't stand. Like I said in my earlier post, I've been waiting ages for a dark exterior nat tan interior car that has low miles and multifunction...your help is appreciate though. Your opinion on which one of the two I should pursue is also welcome....

To be honest not really. Its already bordering 5 years old... Yes one owner would be better, but you cant have it all I guess.

Take the VIN number and check with another dealer, especially where the car was sold, you can get that from the service book I am sure. Maybe this one is trying to hide something...
