Oh Great Rennlist....
I've read several comments on the 997 TT board similar to "997 TT's seem to be following the same price/depreciation path at 996 TT's" or words to that effect.
Given this, when could I expect to be able to buy a 2007 TT, 6-speed for $59,000?
Thank you in Advance,
Lomotpk

Im no expert; however, I have been watching them for over a year now and its been pretty flat. Im seeing some in the very low 70 range right now. I would imagine you would see some in that range in a year or year and a half but they will be high mileage cars.

I've seen 997 Turbos in the high 60's with 30k - 60k miles on eBay. My guess would be by mid 2012, higher mile, tiptronic cars that needs tires and or brakes may be had in the high 50's. That said, I am not an expert - and am purely speculating.

simple ... those car loose 7-10k every year.
At this time, a low mileage car are 85k, high mileage tip are 75k
$59k I think you will have to wait one more years to find a low mileage car, and another year to get a low mileage car.
I doubt that the new Porsche / 991 will make the car price drop like rock, they just depreciate at a steady pace, exactly like the 996 turbo did. And some Porsche dealer still have some 996 turbo for sale in the high $60k...
But if you hunt down someone who was mocked by a dealer trade-in value, you could very well buy one for $65k right now ! As I don't think they would offer more than 60k as trade-in especially when they know that the new 991 will keep them busy with new car sales.
Sorry for the long answer
I have to say I am also trying to get a bargain so ... I got carried away

I have been eyeballing prices myself. A LOT of what dealers/people are asking will depend on miles, options, type of transmission, whether its stock/tracked, the condition of the car, has it been hit, is it a lease return, are all service records documented, the color of int/exterior, private party or dealer, extended warranty, garaged, etc. People look for clean cars and they can be spotted a mile away. Those will be the most sought after. I can't comment on price but I think a year away is possible. Good luck with your search.

Those first couple of years they really do free fall don't they. Doesnt it make you consider buying a 996 for that amount? You can get a pristine example now for your price target. In 3 years it won't lose that much (if you start with a low milage pristine , keep it pristine and low miles)
