2000 mile oil change?
My 2011 Turbo S is just at 2000 miles.Do most of you Turbo owners believe in the 2000 mile oil change or just wait for the recommended 10,000 mile one.I know there alot of opinions but if you don't mind speaking up I would love to hear them on this subject...Thanks in advance.

The first oil change I dumped the oil filter housing oil and element into a clean drain pan. Send me a PM with your email address and I'll send a pic or two of what the oil and filter looked like.
However, as bad as it looks, it is 'normal'. New engines shed alot of trash and this trash is caught by the filter.
My advice is unless forbidden by the owners manual to at least change the oil at the end of break-in. I can see no reason -- and it makes my cringe -- to imagine that all of the sudden one takes an engine he has been treating to a by the manual break in and keeping the rpms under 4K to at 2K miles begin upping the rpms with that original and likely filthy oil still in the engine.
I have treated the Boxster to an early oil/filter service and regular (every 5K miles) oil changes and the original engine has over 238K miles and runs just fine.
I recently had the VarioCam solenoid and actuator replaced on the passenger cylinder bank but the chain guides, camshafts, lifter tops, chains, all looked brand new. (I snapped pics while the camshaft cover was off.)
The Turbo I bought at 10K miles and have added over 44K miles since June of 09 and it took gets 5K mile oil/filter services. I plan on getting 238K and more miles out of the Turbo engine before I'm done with it.
Sincerely,
Macster.

Depends on temps, driving style, distance ie frequent short runs, tracktime,etc....
At 2000 mi. not recommended, but it would certainly Not harm your engine and you would sleep better.
