Looks like Porsche addressed this with the upcoming 991 - by shortening the front overhang

I seemed to have lost a few of those black buttons in the spoiler attachment. I am worried that at high speeds (I will be at Daytona this winter), the spoiler could separate so I want to make sure it is secure as possible. Are those black buttons the expanding rivets mentioned in this thread and can I order them through Porsche with that partner number? My car is a 996 Gt3 with the stock spoiler.

SECOND THAT that it's a consumable item.
Luckily they're about $250 a pop. Generally I tell my customers that they will replace them at some point and that they should plan on doing it every couple years.
Thankfully they install in a matter of minutes and are readily available at your local Porsche parts department. You wouldn't want to ship the thing, the box it comes in is GIGANTIC!
