The issue with IBM metallic is it is not holding up very well once applied to the car. Sure they have a few examples of IBM running around the states. I saw one last Wednesday up in Monterey at Quail Lodge. For some reasons they just do not like hot it is holding up. So they are just working on reformulating it. Sure if you have the details you can whip up a batch to paint parts and such. But for what ever reason Porsche just does not like how it looks now with the first batch of Turbo S demo cars.

Who the hell asks a freaking salesman to drive their brand new turbo s? They should not be allowed to purchase such a car.
Same guy bought a CGT gave any and everyone hot rides even let people he knew well drive the first day he took car. Dude apparently likes to give other people thrills. Wish sometimes I could be so giving. But Not me no way

Its actually common practice for dealer reps to test drive cars prior to delivery. Often is part of the PDI process. The vehicles a first road tested in Germany and very often by the selling dealership prior to delivery. Most good customers invite this and many have long standing relationships with their salespeople/service techs. Typically the only people that take issue are "new money" people. Remember that officially the car belongs to the dealership until money is exchanged between the buyer and seller. All cars come with delivery miles weather only from Germany or including dealer representatives. Its standard practice. Any certified Porsche rep weather sales or service will always treat the car (which is a commission in their pocket) with care. Would make little sense for them to abuse inventory which is also their livelyhood.

I see that the car-**** here feels he can tell other people what they can and cannot do with their own money.

I don't think the problem with IBM was the paint holding up. It was (as I was told by one insider) that the match on the materials was not where PAG wanted it.

When they paint mirror housings, bumpers and other plastics, there are different formula tweaks needed to make those panels match the metal panels of the same color. Getting that just right is a tough thing, especially on a light metallic.

But we produced Bumper and Door Plugs in IBM weeks ago, and they look fine.

Hope they get it together. It's a beautiful color. If you have ever seen VW's Speed Blue Metallic, it's within 90% of that finish.

I have the same sales person at BMW for a long time. He is a huge care enthusiast. He has driven all my cars, once they are broken in. He is always respectful. There is nothing wrong with letting a sales person drive your car. I would not let them drive my ordered car before I pick it up though.

Got confirmed build date this week Dec. 10th I have the Azzuro California Blue on order Just as with the IBM I have only seen a photo of the color. Hoping I like the PTS and don't one day see IBM and have regrets. One thing for sure I seriously doubt I will ever see another Azzuro Turbo S.

Yes they were but I have never seen one in the flesh. It appears to be a great color.
