Default Value of 2010 ttcab?

Time to change up the daily.

Any thoughts on the value of this car?

I'm thinking maybe $140?

Thoughts?

Car a year old -- 2011 models here now or soon will be.

Car is used.

I see a 2008 Turbo Cab with 10K miles, basalt black/black-beige offered for $113,988 at Porsche of Fremont (ad cut from San Jose Mercury newspaper cars for sale section a few weeks old).

Were these 2010s being discounted new? (In 2008 some dealers were discounting new Carreras by $30K.)

One way to estimate a car's value is to take the new car's dealer price, and then subtract 10% from this number when car is sold. When car turns one year old, when new models arrive at dealer's showroom, subtract another 10%. Every year after when car turns another year older subtract another 10%.

Various factors also play a role. Model desirability, or lack of it. Economy. Market competition. Etc.

Just a rough guide, rule of thumb. But one has to start somewhere I guess.

Another place to start, if you can get the info, are auction prices. These give you an idea of what the cars trade for at wholesale. Generally a dealer will seek to keep its exposure in a car around the wholesale value cause if the car proves to be a drag on the market -- no takers after x number of days/weeks being offered -- the dealer can unload the car at auction and recoup almost all his money.

So, one has an idea of what the dealer has in the car and can then have a starting place to begin negotiations. How high one goes is between him and the seller.

Sincerely,

Macster.

If I was going to buy in that price range I would order the car the way I want it....As I will live with it for years so the little 10% discount is not worth it....

Thanks for the input. That car sold. Found this one, specced perfectly (for my taste as a dd, anyway)

Nice, maybe it's just me but I'm seeing a big uptick in the turbo cab market lately.
