Well, I finally got my car home on Tuesday evening before the next snow storm here in CT. and what a joy it was to start up that engine and here the sound of the new flat six. My first impressions where how great the car looked when I went to pick it up. The shape and curves of the rear hips, do it all the justice you could imagine, coming from a 997S, which was a great car in it's own respect. It has such a wide stance and physical presence that you know that this car means business when the time comes. Opening the car door invites a sense of precision with a sound that emulates the efforts of a perfectionist. What can I say. Compared to my first 911 this car just seems to have been built with more precision. Possibly because it's just newer. But upon sitting in the the adaptive sport seats they just envelope you as if you were in an F-14 fighter jet. And when I started her up and all the lights came on along with the newly installed Escort 9500 CI I felt that I was truly sitting in the cockpit of a Stealth bomber. At first thought the exhaust sound wasn't as deep and throaty as my 9897S with PSE and aftermarket Fabspeed headers and cats. And this has a lot to do with the overall exhaust design of a Turbo. Hard to hold in that note with the open turbines to produce a deep sound. However when I got her out on the highway, and you accelerate up the RPM range she gives a deeper sound along with the spooling and whirl of the variable turbines. Yes I was excited. I couldn't really test the limits of anything high performance wise, due to the winter temperatures, but I can tell you that the PDK does shift fast and precisely as advertised. I especially enjoyed shifting with the gear selector as much as the paddles. Seamless and effortless, but again that's comparing it to my previous tiptronic. For those who have had a manual turbo before and are venturing into a 2010 the difference may not be as noticeable. All in all however, it was great fun driving her home. After refering to the manual I found out that the dynamic cornering lights are only active above 6mph. They were working great on the ride home but I wondered why they stopped working when I was driving up my steep driveway. As they always say RTFM. Again I have to compliment the construciton of the cockpit. As I eluded to before the leather seams and stiching appear exqusite and upscale. The feel of the paddle shift steering wheel feels very ergonomic in my hands. And yes I love the touch screen. What I great addition. For now that's all until our weather can at least get to 45F. At that time I will be able to report on the PTV. She's undercover in the garage for now along with the battery charger.
Take Care
Jay

Congrats on the car. I know how you feel after going to the local dealer today. Test Drove a Black Turbo Cab with the PDK and Paddle shifters. I have a Targa 4S 2009 6 speed manual shifter. I had been trying to decide if I wanted to build a Turbo. The drive today sealed the deal other than it appears no More Builds this year dealer says Rep will be there next week and he is going to try to find a build or I will do my best to go with the Turbo S that is rumored to be coming up for a March Order/ July Delve. Called the wife told her I was bring the Black Cab home for her to run the weak Targa up there and give them keys. She balked Wants the same Malachite Green in the Turbo. There is an amazing difference in the 4S and the Turbo I was worried but wow!!!!!!. I didn't even get the Turbo boost going that much he let me get some foot in it but I didn't want to rev to high due to its not mine and needs proper break in. I will be having some Turbo Dreams for many nights to come.

To say the least I am in envy of you enjoy you have one great super car. Was the dealer able to install the yellow dials ? I am wanting to have those installed also. If you did Please post a photo would love to see how they turned out.

Enjoy

you think I should wait for the 991? when would the turbo come out? 2013? 2014? I could probably wait. I am loving my C2S cab now. But, I want to buy the 'one'... for me, white cab with blue interior and blue top! Classic in my opinion!

Thanks for the compliments. Sorry it took so long to respond. I just returned from the Super Bowl. That was my last surprise birthday gift from my wife to me. What a year this has truly been. But in answer to your question about the yellow dials at the moment there doesn't appear to be any available in Germany at this time. So I have to be patient and wait. To no avail. When I finally have them installed I will post pics.

Wow That is the way to start a year or end one which ever way you want to look at it.

I will Be ordering a Turbo S soon since there are no new Builds for the 2010 Turbo. I am hoping I can get the Yellow dials when I order. Hope you get those in soon I really think your SC dial really makes your car pop out at you. Looks awesome.

If I didnt already have a great Wife. I would be asking about her sister if she had one.
Your a lucky Man.

Enjoy all your treasures in Good Health.

Thanks GJ. I hope your build for the Turbo S goes well. Your correct about the weather here in the Northeast. I won't be driving anytime soon. If it warms up a littel I may start to detail in the garage. Looking into getting a portable heater so I can at least do something with my new baby. As of right now however there aren't any speed yellow instrument dials available. Let me know if you here of anything different. As always I'll keep in touch.

I also posted a few pics of my pedal set for Trice and others to see, for those who may be interested.

One note, as you can see that two of the screw holes didn't exactly match up on the brake pedal. For me it was close enough. Evidently there was a slight change from 2009-2010 with this alignment. Don't think it's a big deal. Besides who would really notice. Brake pedal works fine and is secure.

Spring isnt far away. I am sure the waiting isnt any better than it was when it was on vessel but at least your can touch ,polish and admire.

Are the pedals a dealer item or where did you get those. They look really good. Like the metal will be adding those for sure !!!!!!!

In a pinch I found the pedal set on Ebay, since there were time constraints involved. Here is the link. See if they are still available. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/PORSC...Q5fAccessories

I do know that SuncoastPorsche just received the correct pedal set for the PDK today. They have a new website. Call and inquire with them personally before you place your order.

I drove mine right out of my unplowed driveway, snowtires and all. Driving in winter is a blast, what these cars were made for so to speak.
