Normally any 'S' variant would come later in the Turbo's life cycle.

I heard a rumor that it is only available with PDK.
No idea on the power numbers.

I posted this on another forum; information was received from my dealer on November 28, 2009.

"Since I have a reservation on a Turbo S, yesterday the dealer shared some preliminary information. At this time, it appears it will be possible to spec the car in February with expected delivery in May. Additional information largely confirms preceding posts...PDK, PCCB's and 538 horsepower. The dealer (large Midwest) asserts he has allocations for two: one cab and one coupe. Both are sold. The base price is estimated at $159k.

It may have been a misunderstanding on my part but the salesman referred to the "S" as a 2011 model. Anyone have clarification?"

Presently I have a 2008 turbo coupe which I shall probably keep.

With the 2012 models introducing the new Porsche 991, it is about time that a 997 Turbo S was announced.

i'm told allocations are low on current turbos - in anticipation of the turbo S arriving. as i understand it, a loaded 2010 turbo will come in just above the price of a turbo S, so announcements are delayed to keep the current models selling.

I also was told that would be it for turbos for the 997.2. Is that inline with previous generations? Were there years without a turbo when the model was changing? I am on the fence about ordering one. I want the my next car to be the keeper and I want to order it as such. I am definately going PTS blue(not sure which color yet) and cab. I need to see what the wing looks like first. I don't want too big or flashy. I have spoken with 2 dealers that still have 1 cab slot each. So, we shall see.

turbo s only. apparently all of the reg turbo allocations are given until june. I am not 100% sure of this, but I was told I couldn't spec a reg turbo, just an s if the slots are still available and a 10k deposit.

I was told by my dealer today that I should be able to spec up my Turbo S in February 2010 with delivery in June July 2010. It's been a long wait but I can now start to see light at the end of the tunnel.

Quick Reply: turboS ?
