Exclamation Oil Qty!?

Hello All,

I have a 2007 997 Turbo and am getting ready for an oil change. I scheduled an appointment with a local dealership and the master mechanic stated that the engine took 10 quarts of oil but the owners manual states 8.5 quarts. Can anyone confirm the right amount of oil the 997 Turbo takes.

Mike

I'm doing mine this morning. The manual is correct. 8 litres. Do not let the tech overfill.

Are you going to DIY? Most people just drain the the two bolts on the pan, and ignore the turbochargers...not that much oil in them anyways.

Me?!?!?! Ha ha, that's funny! My biz includes a 15 bay shop, so that was the 'royal I'. I can barely avoid injuring myself turning on the radio.

Use 5w40 Mobil 1 as it states in your book. Most dealers will charge a ridiculous price like $250, my local mechanic charges about $125 for the same service
