This is something that should be addressed regardless if you are stock or modified.

Please download this PDF.

"This is to inform you of a voluntary Workshop Campaign on certain 2007, 2008 to 2009 model year 911 Turbo (997) and 911 GT2 (997) vehicles. There is the possibility that turbochargers may have been installed on which the ball joints on the adjustment mechanism for variable turbine
geometry can become corroded."

I'm not saying yours in particular are rusted.

I am just taking this opportunity to tell everyone they should properly lubricate their *****.

If you can't do it yourself, have someone do it for you. It's nothing to be ashamed of.

As Ben Franklin once said, an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure.

No worries. Glad I could help.

One of my close friends is a Master Tech at a local dealership. He gives me the skinny on stuff like this.

Thank your for your generous information.
I have been dealing with AWE tuning in Calgary and have nothing but praise for them.
Thank you.

Good info.
I can't locate the adjustment mechanism though. Anybody has a drawning or a picture of the ball joints ?
Thanks
