Default Vivid Racing 630HP Package Released

We just created this new package based on all our modifications and results. This is a great intro package for the new 997TT user wanting reliability and performance. Stay tuned for our 750 package with twin GT30 turbos coming shortly. We created this webpage specific so you can read about the parts, modifications, and see the results. We will be doing some 1/4mile, 0-60, and 60-130 run soon once it cools down here in AZ. We have a Performance Box by VBoxUSA to measure all the data.

Original Product Information here - http://www.vividracing.com/catalog/vivid-racing-630hp-kit-porsche-997-tt-06-p-54035.html

Total cost is $8294.00

September 1, 2008 - The Vivid Racing 630HP kit for the Porsche 997TT was developed from our very own Project Car. Partnering with Porsche aftermarket tuning leaders such as Milltek, Agency Power, and Softronic, we have put together a package that will take your vehicle to the next level of power and performance using your stock turbochargers. At our Arizona facility, we have dyno tested each one of these parts individually and as a package to showcase their performance capabilities. Our vehicle and products have been put through rigorous driving tests to ensure their strength and reliability. In 5 days, we ran the car 2500 miles in the 2008 US Leg of the Gumball 3000 Rally. This included high speed runs, mountain roads, and race tracks. The consistency, reliability, and pure excitement of this package are one to consider.

Every turbocharged vehicle needs to breathe well and have less restriction after the turbos to produce strong horsepower. Our VR 630HP kit starts off by improving the exhaust flow and efficiency with the Milltek exhaust system. The Milltek features 200cell high flow catalytic converters. The exhaust design was developed to provide maximum power with a clean race tone. The Milltek exhaust is known for not having drone in the 2200-2800rpm range that so many other systems have. The exhaust saves about 30lbs off the rear end of the vehicle. Its OEM fitment and style uses the stock tips or other aftermarket ones such as TechArt. Next we add the Agency Power high flow headers to improve turbo spool and low end torque. The Agency Power headers are a direct replacement for the stock units. They feature a better collector and equal length runners for the best exhaust flow possible. The headers are all stainless steel and feature high quality robotic TIG welding. The exhaust components will reduce restriction which causes your boost to not build up fast and drop off tremendously with the stock exhaust system. You will notice faster throttle response and stronger pull throughout the entire RPM range.

The biggest change in the Porsche 997 Turbo performance is with the ECU upgrade. Vivid Racing is exclusive partners with Softronic. Softronic has been doing Porsche tuning and engine building for over 20 years. Based in Connecticut, Softronic has been on the PCA technical board, provided its services to Porsche Motorsports, and even Hendrick Motorsports. They use the latest technology to bring out the aggressiveness in your 997TT while keeping your vehicle safe and reliable. Softronic tunes using the factory knock and O2 sensors. Unlike other tuning systems, Softronic physically tunes each timing and lambda table to give you the best overall package no matter the RPM or throttle position. Softronic retains the Sport feature and if you do not have Sport, Softronic can activate it for you. The Softronic ECU Flash alone added 66 all wheel horsepower and 54ft/lbs of torque. The Softronic ECU flash can be done for 91 or 93 octane. It can also be set for international customers running higher octane like 95 or 98 octane. With the Softronic ECU Flash, since it is tuned on the factory Knock and O2 sensor, there is no need for additional race files as the ECU will adjust to higher octane race gas. You can also have the ECU put back to stock if need be. For warranty purposes, when you connect the Porsche Factory PIWIS tool, the system will say an "update was done", but not what that update is or by who... it is really up to the relationship with you and your dealer. Since the Porsche 997TT uses the CAN interface, this cannot be done via the customer and the ECU must be sent in. The ECU will be overnighted back to the customer once flashed. For questions in regards to this process, you can Contact Us.

We have tested our horsepower numbers on our Mustang All Wheel Drive dyno. You can read more about our dyno and how it works here. The Mustang Dyno reads much lower then some of the other dynamometers out there. As tested in AWD and on 93 octane, our Porsche 997TT made 511awhp and 508ft/lbs of torque. With a 25% drivetrain loss, this equates to 638 horsepower to the crank. Our vehicles baseline was at 331awhp and 317ft/lbs of torque. Both tests were done in the Arizona summer months with an outside temperature of 100F degrees.

Since most Exhaust Systems that we have tested yield similar results, you can opt to select one of our other systems available in Stainless Steel, Inconel, or Titanium from Agency Power, Tubi, JIC Cross, RSC Tuning, GMG, TechArt and more. To help in improved cooling and air flow, we also add the Agency Power high flow intercoolers. (DIY coming soon) These bar and plate intercoolers are much larger then the factory units and designed to handle over 750 horsepower.

Vivid Racing 630HP Kit Includes -
  • Performance Exhaust System
  • High Flow Racing Headers
  • Softronic ECU Flash
  • Upgraded Intercoolers
