Hi Jason,
Been too busy and missed this thread complete, until now. Wow, what a trip.
Much deserved rest is right. I'm amazed that you did not have mortion sickness in the Ring, as I knew you had verdigo awhile back.
Thanks for the stunning pictorial essay, as usual.

Thanks so much for your kudos! I hope you guys enjoyed reading it as much as I enjoyed experiencing it! It truly was one of those trips of a lifetime. I was there from May 17th until June 3rd and hope to go back one day.
I don't get motion sickness from adrenline inducing rides like that. I got a case of vertigo as a side effect from medication that I took a while back.

Outstanding travel-log Jason! Amazingly, my friend Chris L and I are planning a similar (although not quite as comprehensive) trip in September. We'll go to the Frankfurt Auto Show, The Belgian GP, and then do the Ring Taxi. We were thinking about trying to arrange a tour of the Weissach facility - did I miss that in your trip description?

A Crisp Salute for you Atomic....beautiful job...thanks for sharing

Atomic,
Any chance its your silver turbo sitting in the Barrier showroom yesterday? (I was asking a salesman about U.S delivery--whether I could buy from a local dealer and pick up across the country for a combo break-in and road trip. He said no, but went on about the great German trip the turbo customer had arranged.)

That isn't my Turbo. Mine is Cobalt Blue and I'm definitely NOT selling her in the near foreseenable future. She's a keeper. But yes, I did go on a road trip to break in mine the day after I took delivery. Best move I ever made! Ironically, I'm down in the Bay Area again with my Turbo as I type this. And yes, I had a great time over in Germany. I'm surprised you found me on here.

I asked for the same cross-country pick-up, as our daughter lives in Orlando. The first 2 times I asked, he just said no. The third time he explained they would have to turn the profit from the sale over to the other dealer.
