Good idea Jason, I may as well look for a refurbished 4G or 5G unit. I read from Eric that they're still waiting for a software upgrade for Dension to work with the 6G as they won't shut off.

On the 2.05 update - it's working fine for those who have it. I believe Chris ran into problems following the file extraction process, and that caused some issues, but the installed base we have are all using 2.05 (at least 90% of them) and without trouble. I believe there may be other installation related issues, but I can't know for sure unless a pro takes a look at the car (Chris's car).

On the 6th Gen, they work with the Dension, it's just the shut off process that's not being seen. So the iPod has to be unclipped when the car is off. Otherwise it's interfacing fine. And yes, Dension is hard at work with Apple (we are part of the Apple 3rd Party Developer group, and are helping Dension with this), to resolve the on/off issue.

A 5th Gen iPod would be the answer for most in this case, if needed.

Expecting updated firmware around the corner.

As for sales...heck, we have the unit on the order page right now at BELOW list price! Get 'em while they're in stock! Well, that's ok too, we get new stock every 10 days now, so we've got 'em if you need 'em!

And we also have gift certificates if your friends/partners need to get you something.

Thanks Eric for the clarification, so I suppose all iPods currently sold are considered 6G hence will have to be unclipped when we shut off the car?

6th G was intro'd this past summer, July I think. I have an 80gb Classic that's less than a year old and is glossy black on the case. The newer ones I believe are matte finish.

So a 5th Gen that is a year old or so would do the trick just fine.

Update, the last two days it has worked perfectly, I did absolutely nothing different. (Quirky?) Hope it holds out....

All issues resolved? I have iphone 6.
No need for additional wire, right?
