Default Massachusetts excise tax amts? (MA residents only)

Anyone with a 997TT in MA who can tell me what their initial year's Excise Tax amt was/is? Just want to factor this into my total costs in considering an acquisition. I'm guessing somewhere in the $3k+ range?

Thanks in advance, and sorry for any non residents who read this...!

It's different per city; when I lived in watertown with my 04 C230 MB sedan, my excise tax for the first year was around $620ish. Figure that was for a $33,000 MSRP car.

For a $130-40ish Turbo....uhmm. Probably in that vincinty that you're thinking. hope that helps.

Excise tax is the same in every town. $25 per one thousand dollars of MSRP. In the first year you pay on 90% of the value, 2nd year is 60%, 3rd is 40% then 25% and finally 10%.

Default Thanks...sortof

Thanks for the link. I didn't realize it was always based strictly on manufacturer's list price.
About $3k in year 1, $2k in year 2, $1300 in year 3. Ouch.

Shows you how much I paid attention! LOL moved from Portsmouth NH to Boston- to watertown. didn't get a MA plate until I moved there.

Believe me, MA taxes don't hold a candle compared to OHIO. They'd tax you in the grave if they could.

It's not based on MFG MSRP window sticker, at least once you get past the first year.
It is based on a valuation provided by the MA RMV computer system.

If they used computers..could you plug your Motronic in and show all the lever two over revs and get the value of the car reduced to almost nothing???
