Folks-

During the first few hundred miles, the engine feels constrained or "tight", if that makes sense. Only modification has been addition of TechArt exhaust.

Is the normal and will it become looser over time? I think that topic has been discussed here before.

My car is nearly run in and has slackened up immensely. It was very tight feeling to start with but now is winding the power out freely. I havent modded engine at all yet!

There has been alot of speculation of pre-programmed boost/timing limiters during the early miles. At nearly 4k miles my car has loosened up tremedously

My non-turbo 997 felt the same for the first ~3K

Oh yes, expect the loosening up to start after a couple thousand miles and to continue well beyond 10k miles. Mine is close to 13k miles and it feels more and more brutal with the miles. It started doing that way before the mods (at 4k miles) and to a greater degree after the mods.
I also think if you baby it too much it will take longer to loosen up if ever, but that's my own theory.
