Zero! Especially in Florida & California. Be lucky if you can even get one.

Until supply exceeds demand, MSRP will prevail. I am sure that there are isolated instances where a discount can be had, but in the larger more popular "car" cities, the dealers are getting full pop. Some buyers report receiving a hug from their dealer as well. I wish I did.

with all due respect to you california guys, i am hearing from northeast buyers that a few grand off is not uncommon-things are starting to loosen up a bit here. california and florida, especially so cal, has always been tough on cars in demand-look at the m5 for example. like the mastiffdog though, i had to pay list, as i received my car in nov.

My dealer told me "10k over sticker" as soon as we sat down! .
After a bit of arm wrestling, I was able to get MSRP.
They told me it was a "house" car that the dealer bought and they were working with me. Probably a story. Wow, I was frustrated... But, not a lot of black turbo's around that are not optioned to the hilt.
Socal is a competitive market, and when supply is low with plenty of buyers.... simple economics... (that's how I am rationalizing the price... )

997TT on order with and MSRP of around $147K. We are in the luxury goods business and it is unheard of to even ask for a discount on something so rare as a 997TT. I mean come on, what is next here, oh can I have a few grand off that Rolex...

is this recently? i can tell you that if he is looking for over sticker now, you should walk out and get on the phone. getting one at sticker now is easy, there are cars on the ground now that you can get. as i said, a few grand off in the norheast is not too tough.

Nothing wrong with asking for a discount. Heck, there isn't a day in my business where a customer regardless if they are spending $1000 or $10,000,000 where they don't try to "improve" the price. I don't run a museum, I sell product and service. There are plenty of so-called luxury goods in the marketplace that clear at a discount.

And I don't think there is anything "rare" about a 997TT. It is a modern production retail car, hardly falls under the definition of "rare". And I have never paid list for a Rolex.

Don't be too sure of that. He's from St. Helena, that's high society, expensive wine and cheese country up in Northern California, where people don't hesitate for a moment to pay full retail. Asking for anything less would be downright shameful. People would rather die than ask for a discount up there!

I am a retailer and I can't pay retail, keeps me from sleeping. Even for a Rolex, wholesale only.

You are the type of buyer that dealers love to pray off of. I have done some research and already found a couple of dealers willing to go to 5% off in orderd car which is roughly 7k which will pay for the rims, tires and lowering, hell and maybe part of the exhaust.

I have heard of 5% being done in the East on ordered cars.
