Bridgestone Potenza RE050A or Michelin Pilot Sport P02 for dual use?
Folks-
I apologize for starting a related thread.
I would like a dual street / track (DE) tire. I live in Maryland, so cold and rain rule out Michelin Pilot Sport Cups (or so I have been told).
Like the Germans, my wife or I will be driving the 997 Turbo, in all conditions.
I have a 996 GT3 with Toyo Proxes tires that are great for use. The 997 GT3 nd GT3RS come with Michelin Pilot Sport Cups, I believe.
But for 80% street use and 20% track - can anyone make me a recommendation (I don't always want to change tires at the track!!! - it is not as much fun driving there)
So, any opinions? Bridgestone Potenza RE050A or Michelin Pilot Sport P02? Or the Michelin Pilot Sport Cups?
Any feedback is greatly appreciated - thanks in advance - Gerry

The RE050A are pretty decent, and are actually wider than the PS2's. They also weigh more, but cost about 40% less. If I were you, I would not use street tires on the track. You can get Hoosier R6's in 19" sizes that will cost less than $300/ corner.

PS2s
No one has driven on all tires in the same car. In my experience the PS2s are better wet and dry than many other higt performance tires. Had them now on 3 cars and love them.

Look forward to your comparison. I would opt for PS2's (keeping my fingers crossed that my car will come in with them). If not I will just keep them (they'll wear down quick enough).
