Default What do you think of my specs?

I still have a couple of months but I think i'm pretty much set. I know the leather and CF is not very fiscally responsible but I plan on keeping this one and not interested in buying the car for the next guy.

Slate grey / black interior

Adaptive sport seats

heated seats

Std. rocker panels painted

sports chrono

Axle rear diff.

Thicker sports steering wheel

Crests in headrests

Center rear console in leather

Door finishers in leather

Carbon Fiber package

Carbon Fiber switch panel

Gear lever trim in leather

storage bin w/ model logo

sports shifter - dealer installed

The one option that i'm having a tough time with is the CF switch panel - I just don't know how they come up with $2,700 for this. I don't see how that should cost more than the rear center console in CF? I like the basic packgae but I'm concerned that I'll have CF, volcano, and galvano within the interior. I know many have done their cars exactly like this (atomic for one) and it looks great. maybe I'm putting too much thought into this.

Looks good. Are the rockers dark enough to match slate?

Someone on the 997 forum said that the factory short shifter is available again for ordering.

good question. I thought the same thing but I saw one in person that had it and it looked good. I think it would be noticeable without it.

Chris

couple of things you may want to add/change:

- floor mats
- stainless steel door entry molding with turbo disco light

- change standard black leather interior for natural (gray) leather interior
- delete painted rockers -- a body shop could do it much cheaper and you can paint your front spoiler at the same time

Just one opinion but...

If she's a keeper;

Carbon Door Finishers look great
So does the CF shifter
So does the steering wheel, but I prefer the Techart MF wheel so I would order the cheap MF wheel and replace it with the Techart item
Lighted entry panels are very cool
I'd have gotten the CF switch panel if I had done a build to suit
PCCB's (whether you feel they stop faster or not, they look very cool)

Slate is a great color, the yellow heads will rock with that exterior.

The mats are there, just didn't think it was necessary to type them LOL. I am also thinking about the "disco light" or the CF entry molding.

I hear you about the rocker panels - good thought.

Your one comment i'm really interested in is if you think slate would look OK with natural grey?

Chris

color is a matter of opinion but natural gray is my first choice if i were going with a darker color car. the other benefit is that natural leather is softer, looks better (imho) and smells better.

wrt the door entry sills, i would be cautious on cf. most of the cf sills tend to scratch and show it's age with wear. stainless is the way to go for durability and it doesn't show dirt.

also, if you can find someone to clone your sim card, get the phone option for the pcm ... otherwise, it's a pointless option.

Chris,

Your car will be very much like mine. I find the current black interior to be a little more gray than the earlier cars, so you are halfway to natural gray already. I skipped the CF and leather stuff, but spent the cash on PCCB. The stopping is just incredible, and the calipers DO look cool. I'm more into
go fast/stop fast than I am into bling, but I admit the leather and CF items, lighted doorsill, etc. is all kinda neat. Your car will be exceptional
