It's a bunch of more self serving rhetoric on street racing which in itself is dangerous to the drivers of the two car racing and other drivers and innocent bystanders around them.

Truble, if you want some TT crowd replies on the thread, you should post this in 6speed.

Wao, that was a dumb thead:

starts with a guy street racing moving to not accepting other cars are faster than his CLS63, especially not 997TT or Z06. If he was posting here I give him less than a week before he gets banned.

I find MB World interesting. I was looking at getting an E55 and started lurking around the forum this summer. I have never seen so many people interested in 0-60 times, street racing and drag racing. I have personally never really cared if I can beat the car next to me or "kills". So funny to hear this on a Mercedes forum. Sounds more like a muscle car or street racer forum.

As for the above comment about 6speed.com - I don't post there, so few quality forums like Rennlist. I just thought 997TT owners would find the thread interesting.

If you've spent any time behind the wheel of recent AMG cars the fascination with straight line perfomance becomes more understandable. Mashing the go pedal is about all the sporting satisfaction they deliver.

you couldn't be more correct. when i looked at the e55, i was amazed how a car with so much power could handle so poorly. it's vague and loose steering made it's tremendous acceleration feel uncomfortable.

Having owned an E55 for two years recently traded it in for a 997 turbo, I absolutely agree with the poor handling part. The E55 is perfect for mad highway blasts, but not much more. The lack of traction in that car was so frustrating.

If you live in Germany the E55 is the perfect autobahn cruiser. But I have to agree with the above post about poor handling. AMG has the ability to make the car handle better I am not sure why they don't. For a DD many cars offer the comfort and regular street performance at a much cheaper price.

I have an E55 and I am on MBworld. A large percentage of folks on that list drag race their Mercedes and that is all they care about. It's all fine by me( whatever floats your boat), but I know a 997TT would kill any AMG aside from a McLaren SLR.

I sold my E55 in October and would buy another one again. The car was an incredible everyday driver and performed flawlessly.
