So anyone of you know if I can order the sterring by itself? I know this steering comes in a package with the shifter **** and the handbrake handle but not sure if it is a seperate order-able part. I think I want a CF steering wheel, the Techart one is nice but I don't think it can be had with tip, so my second choice is the Porsche one with the handy volume buttons and stuff.
Yes....you can get the TechArt one with Tip. It fits anything! The one for the MF steering wheel would be the Type 1. I ordered type 2 because I have the circular airbag unit. It's pretty pricey and takes a while to get. I'm finally getting mine any day now after having ordered it in August! I believe that the one from Porsche with CF would be pretty pricey too so either would work. FYI, mine is both the CF/leather version.
How does the Techart one works? It comes with all the buttons or do they have to be moved from the Porsche one to it? I know it's going to be expensive for me to switch as I have the round airbag and the MF one is Y shaped, so I would imagine I would need a new airbag too.
Oh..I didn't realize that you had the round version. Yes, it's probably going to be pretty pricey for you to switch those out. You'd have to change airbags and then see if TechArt would be willing to swap the round version for the MF version without any additional charges. I'm not sure if you'd need any other electronics for the MF buttons. It might be plug and play or then again maybe you might need additional components.
