Yes, I was driving a W211 E55 when I joined this forum. Love the engine and drive train. Only slight complaint being the super-charger clutch chirps hence not the smoothest rough s/c engagement. Rather festive in the E55 when I push it, s/c chirp then the tire chirp, together with the amber triangle flashing!

The CLS should handle better than the E. Swapping to PS2 made a huge difference on that car. Unfortunately I'm getting the Bridgestone RE50 instead of Michelins on my 997TT. Have yet to really test and compare the two, are you getting the PS2 on yours?

I have the 050A on my CLS55 and I am very happy about the handling, call me weird but I was never a fan of PS2s, the handling feels odd to me and I never got comfortable on PS2s, and I have driven 3 different cars on PS2s, my old C4S, an M3 and a Audi S4.
I never check what tires were on the Turbo as I was too excited when I saw the car for the first time and basically forgot to notice stuff. I even forgot what steering wheel was in the car, even after I sat in it on the rooftop and we had to check the option sheet when we went back down to the showroom to find out. :P

BTW, if my car did happens to come with PS2s, I don't mind swapping them with your 050As, as I think you are not one of those lunatics that put in 2000km a week

Thanks for the kind offer, while I like the the PS2 over the Conti Sports II on the E55, I really haven't had a chance to do a back-to-back between the PS2 and the 050A.

It's good to know the 050A isn't necessarily inferior. Come to think of it, I think it also got a better rating over at tirerack.

Trading wouldn't be fair to you as while my mileage is very low, still less than 500km, I hit a nail and had to patch one of the tires already.

Off to install the iPod kit..

Boy aren't you unlucky, a nail within the first tank of gas or 2.

How you like the ipod kit? did u ordered it from nav-tv direct or is there a local dealer? and where did u go for the install, Ralph or back at MCL?

iPod kit is great on the 997.

I ordered directly from Nav-TV US$600 and an additional US$45 for the wiring harness. There may be a waiting list for the kit as Nav-TV apparently can't get enough of those iPod cables from Apple.

Installation done by my pal named Irvin in his garage in Burnaby at CAD$120, he has worked on many of my cars since 15 years ago.

Beauty is that you get all your songs at your finger tips, and since I have the multi-function steering wheel, it's very handy skipping songs.

Software is not perfect a little clunky but I think it's a far better investment than the CD changer in the trunk (which I did not order).
