i am tempted to try on some extra H&R wheel spacers (15mm rears and 7mm fronts left over from my 996) on the 997tt. I especially noticed the rear can use more of a aggressive offset and look with these stock 19s.

Anybody have attempted this with stock suspension and height?

aight fellas..since no one has attempted this i believe...well here it is... I only tried on the rear spacers (15mm) for now and I think it looks MARVELOUS and it does fill out the rear offset to be more aggressive. This look shouldve came from factory! So far no rubbing whatsoever with stock suspension. 7mm for the fronts will come next week. Stay tuned guys....

I am assuming that the rainy ones are before and the dry are after! It does look good.

If there is any difference there, it is very subtle. I don't think I would change the configuration from the factory set-up on mine to achieve a look that is so minor.

I would also be concerned about any geometry changes that might impair performance and warranty, but that's just me, mods are done by tons of owners everyday on these car.

Wheel spacers are pretty common aren't they? What stories about wheel spacers have you heard that could affect geometry, performance and warranty? Is 15mm a lot?

I think they look great and would like to do the same to mine. I think it makes a big difference.

sup fellas....dont get me wrong here..i was merely slapping these on as i had them from my 996. Believe me, you will notice a big difference in person on how it sits and how much more aggressive it looks. Unless you drive your car on a track with pushing its limits, I doubt any of us would feel any difference on a day to day driving, cruising, or commuting.

My brother uses spacers on his GT3 Cup Car and GT2 race cars to better tune the suspension and handling geometry so I think as long as you know how to dial in your car with these needed spacers, I do not think there are many negative areas on doing so.

But what i really want is a flash program, open exhaust system, divertor valves, and set of Fikse or HREs in 20s!

I have the 997 C4s with the turbo wheels installed. Same rear fender width as the TT. I installed the 17mm spacers originally on the rear and ended up trading them out for H&R 7mm. 17mm was a bit too aggressive and feel the 7mm work great. I do agree that a spacer in the rear improves the look.

15mm rear and 7mm for the front is perfect! Now waiting on some Bilstein, H&R, or Moton coilovers to bring the ride down by an inch or so.

I think it looks great. I definately think it's a noticeable difference. However, watch your paint! You are now much more likely to throw stones and other debris onto you rear fender and bumper (especially the lower part of the bumper).

the car is now completely protected from these rock chips, stones, and small debris as it just received a complete 3M plastic bra treatment on front, sides, and rear!! :=O This is highly recommended!! Now i can start to pick on the fcars! ahahhahah
