Strange Question at the Gas Station...
Its been pretty calm around here lately, so I thought I'd share this one with you. Wife and I decide to take a nice ride in the 997TT yesterday and we pull into Chevron to fill up.
I start filling the tank and a guy pulls in with a 06 black MB SL600. He checks out the turbo as he pulls up to the pump ahead of my car. He walks around and then when he is about 10 feet from the car he stops and stares at me and the car for a couple seconds and then says:
"Are those the ceramic brakes on your car, aren't those a $9000 option?"
Nice way to start the conversation.

I just shrugged it off by saying that the car seems to stop pretty well with the stock brakes the way I drive...

I can't tell you how many men in Germany came up to my car and just stared at the PCCBs, and then asked about them. Apparently a lot of people know about them. I had no clue that there was such a 'following' on Porsche brakes...

Cable,
That is funny. My next door neighbor, a pretty sophisticated, yuppie, country club kinda guy (but obviously not a car guy) came over one day when I was detailing my '89 930, a car that I think most people would recognize at least somewhat. He said: "So, what do ya got there, a Jag?"
