Default How close would it have to be?

If you have an order placed with a October or later delivery, and your dealership called you right now and said:

"We have a 997TT that came in today, but the buyer decided to pass, if you like it, its yours at straight MSRP, when can you come down and see it?"

1. Would you be willing to accept an alternative ext./int. color?
2. What options would be a "must have" for you?

NO, for that kind of money I would like the choice of color and options!
Plus, I want a discount.

Right now, I would think it would be difficult to get both, but if you wait, you might...

I've got 3-4 colors that I like a lot. If not one of those, then no way.
Only must have options for me are sport chrono and short shifter. The car comes with a lot of options as standard that cost extra on the 997S. There's more value built into the turbo at base than people acknowledge.

msatiff, i would make sure you get what you really want. it's only 3 months longer in wait, how long are you gonna keep the car? more than 3 months i hope.

i dont like options, my car usually only have xenon and nothing else. i would not take extra options even if they made the car cheaper then one wiht less option. i like my car the way i spec'd them.

hang in there.

I am just the opposite. I like the car loaded with all of the options and toys, the more the better. Guess I am just a big fish for PCNA marketing ...

Color choices: I would make some allowences. There are some colors that I really like even if they are not my first choice. Artic Silver, Black, White, etc.

In terms of options, these are the must haves:
Short Shift
Sport/Chrono

Maybe a deal breaker but not quite sure until I sat in the car:
Sport Seats
Thicker Steering wheel
-- No carbon fiber for me.

B - if you don't like Carbon Fiber, you'll hate my car. So much for the lesson...

I don't like carbon fiber for me.... There is nothing wrong with it.. If you like it, GREAT.. I just think carbon fiber should be used to make things lighter in weight and stronger.. Not so much into the decrotive aspect of it.

It would still be my pleasure to teach you some driving tricks.. And I'm sure your interior is beautiful...

For me, it's gotta have:

Among 2 or 3 exterior color choices
Among 1 or 2 interior color choices
Heated seats
Sport chrono
6-speed manual
PCCB

nothing wrong with that. i am just saying that you want to get this earlier car IF it has all the stuff you want and none of the stuff you dont. if you prefer loaded cars, that's wonderful, then make sure you get what you want.

i am somewhat insane, so i like my cars stripped of options. but you aren't martian like me are you

As you know I passed on a nicely optioned car because it was Black and I am so down on dirty-looking cars so Black would be the death of me.

Otherwise the car was perfect;

Full carbon (sorry Mooty)
Short Shift
Sport Chrono
PCCB
Trick Diff
Adapt seats w/heaters

I'd want all those things on my TT. So I'm with you Mastiff.

Oh yeah, I'd also want a Cab

i would take a look at the car. that is initally how i purchased my 996 turbo and it worked out good for me because it was definitely one of the colors i was considering. take a look and see if it gets you excited and go from there.

Oh, I took a look. Took it for a drive with the GM and he thought he'd scare me with his skill. Then I took the wheel...

One fastasssombitch, that car.

But I figured another that was not Black would come along.

In the end, you're right, It just didn't "speak" to me loud enough. Any other color and I'd have been a goner, even if I would have to take a can-oper to the roof.
