997TT Dinner Launch at the dealer on 6/20!
Just received the invitation today. Wife and I will definitely go to this one. On June 20, 2006 our local dealer is having an dinner launch at one of our country clubs with a car there to look at. I heard the official "release the car to its new owner day" is actually the 24th.
Anyone else's dealer doing something like this?

Yes mine came today for Scottsdale. It's the night of the 23rd. Would be nice to get to see the car on the 20th like yours. Are they just having one per dealer or does each dealer get their first allocation at this time? The first allocation here is 10 cars, so that could potentially make for one heck of a party. I'll bring the camera for sure.

My local OPC has asked me to come down with my 993TT. They're having a line-up of the previous generation turbos. Dropping it off in the am for them to clean it and then going back in the evening for the event. No idea what they're planning though.

I was invited to the new Cayman launch last August, however I was flying that same morning to Europe (tough life hey? )
No invitation for this party for me, however it should be noted I'm only on Porsche's mailing list, not the local dealership. That's assuming of course I could get in the door.
Have a good time guys, take lots of pics!

Thanks Brett. They had a line up of Turbos starting from the 930, it was quite a sight. The 997's looked awesome, real mean with their smoked alloys. But do you know what, there was a 964 Turbo 2 in Jade green (I think that's what it's called), the only one in existance, that almost stole the show... almost! Everyone was was talking about it all night. There was also a mint Flatnose that made mine look real shoddy!
There was also a talk from guy from Porsche GB and a guy from the factory to answer tech questions. And a Porsche driver fresh back from Le Mans! The tech guy gave a good talk on the new turbo technology and had a cut away turbo with him to aid.
The only people there were Customers who had put down the £10000 ($18000) deposit, and people who had loaned their cars for the evening. The customers all got a big box of goodies as a momento, but I didn't get to see what was in them.
