Default Lowering my 997 Turbo

My turbo is on the dock in San Diego and will be here in a week or two. I would like opinions on lowering. I know 997 and 997S cars can be successfully lowered but anyone have any suggestions for the Turbo?

I'm going to have the same question soon. Call the guys over at Champion in Pompano Beach, FL. they seem to do a lot of customizing. See what they say. I also want to go with a TUBI exhaust. Will have to wait till it's available. That's teh problem with a new release

Geez, I am afraid mine (if I ever get one) will be too low! I am concerned about rubbing the bottom on my driveway. As it is, I'll have to angle the approach. Does lowering the car impair the warranty?

US cars are 1 1/2 inches higher do to bumper height requirements here. Have your Porsche dealer do the work and you should have no issues with warrenty.

It sounds like you may need to have a concrete guy out to modify your driveway. My 993 was transformed both visually and functionally by lowering. I know the car is all wheel drive...I dont want it to look like a 4x4.

I wouldn't touch a new 997TT, you will f with the pasm bigtime, a ROW kit from porsche would be the only possibility. Forget any exhaust mods, as it will f up the variable turbos. Afraid this one is gonna be un-moddable for a while, I don't want mine to be some tuner's experiment, not at 130k a pop.

other pasm 997s seem to do well with HR springs, why not the turbo?

I heard that for the 997 turbo, all cars across the world will have the same ride height. Anyone able to confirm or disprove this?

What is the height of the 997TT compared with the 997 C4S?

That is the polar opposite of what I have heard/seen. On a 997 they def shorten shock life and mess with the pasm system, how could they not, ride ht is one of the key data variables sent to the onboard computer in the pasm system. The TT pasm is completely different than anything else porsche has ever made on any model, incld the 997. I find it very hard to believe that tuners have outsmarted the porsche boys here. But, hey, it's your car, I wouldn't do it on my 130k ride.

I would check with your Porsche dealer and PCNA.
My dealer informed me that he can not install a non US PAG part (re: RoW M030 Porsche parts in a 996TT) per PCNA and still have warranty coverage. You can only install US spec PAG parts, not RoW parts.....PCNA is getting a bit stricter on warranty parts/claims.

I would agree with both C4S and Itc in the first sentences of their posts. I have experienced both first-hand. The service director at my dealer told me that if PCNA found out I put H&R's on my car there would be warranty "issues". BTW, there are more people having problems with PASM and lowering springs than you guys know about, I have my sources. You have to remember that there are a ****load of Porsche owners who never visit Rennlist or any other Porsche-related forum. I do find it interesting though that I seem to be the only person I've heard of (on this forum) that has had issues with lowering springs.

The shorter springs caused the shocks to bottom-out (even with the bump-stops trimmed as specified) which in turn created a PASM fault, turned sport mode off, and wouldn't let me re-engage sport mode without restarting the motor. The message said "sport mode unavailable". When measured, there was only 3/8" of shock travel left in the rear shocks. Shop foreman said the answer might be to install the shorter shocks from the new GT3.

Flower Mound is about 25 miles NW of Dallas, in between Grapevine and Lewisville lakes.
